PowerA is a brand, so not the official Sony one

Thanks for posting OP, Sony is Official, everything else is copy.

On HN site - "The Power A Official Dual Charging Station for PS4" = Dodgy word sequence

RIP Shipster you utterly useless service.

  • This is an officially licensed dual PS4 controller dock.

    Any good?

  • I can vouch for the quality of these. While it's a licensed third party product, it feels good enough to be first party. Very satisfied with mine from a few years back. Especially happy at where it plugs into the controller, ie. not at the micro USB slot.

    • Question. So how does it charge if not via the micro USB slot?
      Thanks.

The “Ext” port on the bottom of the Dualshock 4 is for charging the controller, just like the USB port on the front.

-It charges a lot faster than the cable
-You can have up to 4 controllers charging if you have two docks

  • I have one of these at home, they def do the job! Would recommend it!

  • it is Officially licensed (Sony been doing this for a while, The Official PS4 remote is not made by Sony)
they could not put the PS logo on them or the box if it was not "officially licensed"
so the title is not deceptive technically.

  • JB didn't price match. Apparently this item is on clearance due to Harvey Norman going out of the Console Gaming business..

  • FIY, this thing has its own proprietary 5V/2A power adapter.

Which means you can’t use a USB cable and it will take another socket on your powerboard.

    • I don't know if they've had any revisions, but mine surprised me. It was a proprietary connector…. which was identical to a 2ds port. :)

Can’t be sure, but it reminded me of that port. Anyway, it’s not standard and it’s a whole brick, not just a cable.
