Not noise cancelling, but does it do a good job filtering out background noise?
Yes quite good. The seal is pretty good. I liked them as my commuting headphones when I was walking around because you have the good balance of awareness around you, while taking the edge off.

How’s sound quality? Eg headphones mainly for commute/portability or listening to music?
I used these for nearly two years for more than 2 hours a day and they were terrific value, I think I paid slightly more than this. While not NC, they have a good seal to block out a fair amount of noise.
My wife has been using them for another year since and they are still going strong, the seal is good enough that she wears them in bed while I am sleeping and I don't hear anything from them.
These are rubbish!

Myself and a mate both bought at the same time and both are still in use. I also got stopped by a random bloke on the train when he saw mine and he was telling me that he had three different pairs in the different colours which he alternated and hadn't had any issues over two years. Up to you if you want to trust Headphone Train Man though.
Please add postage costs or collect deets :)
