I basically need a small help with my word resume document. I want a paragraph to be aligned properly, but it's coming to the left side, I want it to be fitted on the page, i.e align to right side also. I cannot able to use google for help because I don't know what to search for.
Any MS word expert can help me, please.

EDIT: Here is the word document which I need to fix. Please, can any MS word expert help me?

  • Highlight the para; Ctrl+J should justify it.

  • Justify Text

    • Not working the way I want. Please see the example: https://i.postimg.cc/2828Z3ss/dre.png
I want to expand career profile text to the right side.

      • Select the paragraph first,
adjust the right margin from the top ruler.
Drag it more to the right

        • I am selecting the paragraph and then using top ruler to drag but it's also shrinking dates. I don't want to touch the right side dates. I hope you getting me.

      • Have you got a Right Margin set that stops the Test being Flush Right?

Have you used ↵ Return that is stopping the formatting of the text?

        • I cannot able to figure out problem :(
I have attached file in the topic, if you can please check.

  • This should help too with general use of Word: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/office-365-basics-v…

Not sure exactly what you want but looks like one of two options, either:

    1) The right margin is too small and you want it to be bigger. Have a look at this page and how to use the ruler to change margins: https://www.howtogeek.com/338956/how-to-use-rulers-in-micros…

    2) You want to have some left-aligned text and right-aligned text on the same line with space in between. Try this: https://superuser.com/a/1062392

If you want something else, try to make a before and after image with paint, or find an example online.

  • Open up a google docs and ask others to message you to help you with it maybe or very least show you how to do it.

Can even use the software program Discord feature screen share which shows them your screen and vice versa and they can show you how to do it while voice/text communicating and you can show them what else extra you need and vice versa etc back and forth until your problems and questions are solved it is a neat program to facilitate communication and receive help without passing control to anyone accidentally like using say teamviewer which is more risque,

      teamviewer which is more risque

I've never thought of TeamViewer as being risque, which means "slightly indecent and liable to shock, especially by being sexually suggestive".

  • use tables with hidden boarders, use column widths as needed, it is very easy to format with that method

    • This method is cutting text on the right side, maybe because of dates.

    • The problem, as it turned out, was that the document was created with tables with non-printing borders.

Adding more tables to existing tables was only going to exacerbate the problem, if indeed it was possible to add another table.

  • Insert a table with 2 columns, left column for dates (left aligned) and right column for description (justified text per above). Then select the table and format it with no borders showing.

  • Do you have the issue sorted, OP?

I’m getting a 404 error - file not found when I click on the link in your original post.

    Cheers,
    Andrew

    • Hi,
No, still not sorted, please help. I uploaded the file again. Thanks.

The problem is that your resume is in the form of a table with two columns.
The text in the career profile is in the left hand block, and the smaller right hand block is blank.
The easiest way to fix this is to merge the two blocks for the career profile text and the blank block:
Left Click to the left hand side of the career profile text, and you will see the two blocks appear in grey shading.
Right Click within the gray shading and select Merge Cells - this will form one big block, all across the page.
The text in the block is Left Justified, and has a ragged right hand margin. If you want the text on the right hand side to be even (because this does look neater), you can go to the top bar of icons and Left Click on the Justify icon. This is in the Paragraph section, and looks like three equal horizontal bars.
The result should look like this https://file.town/download/jgg7o8grkb7yz0b65em3a7hy1
PS. Save your document before you start messing around with it with Rev A added to the name, and then resave as Rev B. Work on Rev B. If you stuff it up, you can always go back to the earlier revision. On some big reports, I go all the way round to Rev Z and then start again on Rev AA.

        • Yo man!!!!!

Thanks man, I was trying this for 2 days. Finally !!!!!!!
          Thank you (y) (y)

        • I solved it by converting the table to text., but essentially the same thing.

  • Hi Adonix,
    I’m looking at the document.

I don’t see any of those paragraphs which isn’t right aligned.

I have sent you a message.

  • Whenever word plays total funny buggers I either select relevant section and clear formatting then format from scratch.

Where it’s playing the F you human, i copy all text into notepad, start a new word document and paste it back. Format from scratch.
