Is this hard wired or can be plugged into wall socket?

    • A significant lack of information on this site.

    • Even their own website doesn't make this clear. Would like to know

      • +23

Just rang them, they confirmed it's a plug

        • +8

          what a legend

    • Plug

It dries the towel, you goose

some homes have a problem with retaining humidty where it takes more than a day to dry a towel

          • @wyrmy: Sure you have a balcony or backyard to hang the wet towel and couple dry towel in your wardrobe

          • @wyrmy: I never leave mine in the bathroom. I just use the rails there for ease of access while in the shower, then put the towels on a clothes rack in a warm spot under a window the rest of the time.

It’s much better than leaving them in a humid location.

          • @wyrmy: Those houses should deal with the moisture problem that will cause mould growth in the walls - not install a heated towel rail just to sort out the towels.

          • +1

@wyrmy: Yeah. I just use my tumble dryer after every wash to dry mine.

In winter my towels don't dry on the bar - and I live in Queensland where we don't really get winter :)

          • +1

@yaleman: Really? Strange, i guess i have been lucky, in all the homes i have lived in the towels always dried in sydney winter, albeit of course after a couple of hours

        • +1

agree, or having a 2nd towel ,sure the cost of stock couple new towels are much cheaper and environmentally friendly to having this rail mount on your bathroom. Where is the Ozbargain spirit!

          • @helloeatty: Mine is powered by solar panels, 100% renewable towel drying

            • +1

              @Astivita: You’re off-grid? Good on you.

Just FYI, around $2.50/week with typical energy costs at a stated draw of 45W.

I’ll keep my towels on a rack under a window and spend the $130/year on other things.

But if you just need it for a few especially cold weeks in winter, it could be worth it, provided it doesn’t combust while you’re at work.

          • @[Deactivated]: No one is suggesting to use it 24/7 (I hope).

Set a timer plug/switch for 2hrs per day, and you have a pre-warmed, dry towel for $10 per year. Justifiable for the southern states, and less likely to combust while you're at work.

        • Depends on how often you shower and how much hair you have. I shower twice a day, I have long hair so my towel is always wet.

Towel hook: "Excellent at Holding Towels" :D

    • +3

      Does it have you hooked?

      • It kept me hanging

  • +1

In winter our towels don't dry very well in a cold bathroom, so for this price it's worth it! Thanks OP!

    • Can you hang it out Of your backyard and get another clean dry towel

      • -5

The people next door to me hang their towels and blankets over the shared fence. It's like I'm in India or Asia. Crazy selfish a$$hats.

        • +1

          u racist MOFO!

        • You realise India is inside Asia, right? Wait, obviously you don't.

          • @Munki: the far place he ever been is his backyard , don’t blame him

        • +1

I'm white and I hang my towels on the fence all the time. The chickens and cows don't complain.

    • Don’t leave them in the bathroom. It’s too humid.

Put them on a drying rack under a window when you’re done with them, then return them to the rail in the bathroom as you go for your shower the next time.

What with these to these towels rail only 600mm in wide? Most towels are much wider.

    6 bar as well.

Going faster than I can edit so not looking anymore

  • Does this need to be attached to the wall / DIY? Or is it free standing?

    • It needs to be attached to the wall

      • -1

Does it need to be drilled into wall to secure it?

        • +6

You’re not going to get enough strength for a wet towel with glue or sticky tape.

  • Can be used for drying closed indoors?

  • look like the hand mixer have gone up in price they were $25 last time?

    • Still a bargain and we now have none of them left in our warehouse, everything is with Amazon so they are the last ones ever.
