    Damn, great price.

  • Does anyone know if there are there any further stackable discounts for this (eBay giftcards etc.)?
    Thanks

    • You can use eBay Gift Card if you picked it up from here.

      • Looks like I missed out on that one. Thank you though

  • I'm in for this. Thanks op

Still doesn't beat the $379 2018 deal with fortnite code that you could flip for $150 :D
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/391121

That was a good day. God bless Fortnite

    • Probably never going to get that price again.
Looks like it was one of those fire sales to get people onto Amazon, competing against ebay plus.

    • +5

      Who sold/purchased that for $150?

      • I sold to some dude on gumtree

    • -2

Posting a deal comparison from a year ago makes you an idiot.

  • This is almost getting to the price I paid over a year ago!

  • Anyone claimed price protection (like a 28 degress/coles card) on ebay store items like this? For example, if Big W drop their price in 18 months when PS5 comes out would you be able to claim price protection even though bought through the Big W ebay store?

    • 28 degrees allows you to claim from any store. i often buy stuff locally cause cbf waiting for aus post then claim the difference on amazon.au or ebay.au.

remember must be the exact same item from an australian store (something like amazon australia not amazon america)
but im pretty sure its max 12 months.

      • yeah coles mastercard is 24 months but must be the same store - was just curious if big w and big w ebay would be classed as the same store as id imagine the price of the ps4 pro will 100% drop in the next 2 years.

        • Wouldnt know about coles but can confirm ifbyou buy from big w u can claim any storefront aslomg as it has au with 28 degrees

          • @AliensStoleMyMoney: Awesome thank you!

They're both latitude finance insurance so if that was the case for 28 degrees it will be for Coles too

            • +2

@dmac80: I have had price protection declined on my 28 degrees price protection insurance when claiming same item discounted via ebay 20% off sales. But shouldn't be an issue if storefront or direct sale from store website. Just as FYI

              • @lime111: Thanks yeah I'll make the claim via the store website price when it eventually drops. Thanks for the heads up!

            • @dmac80: weird, if its a public open sale it should be fine.

one example was i got a 4k 49inch viano from a sale on ebay 20% off

claimed 149 when big w had it on clearance… best card

              sorry that was for lime111

            • @dmac80: Incorrect actually, even though they may both be using policies offered by Latitude, if you read the actual terms of Shopper's Protection via Coles, it explicitly states that it must be from the same store, within 24 months of purchase.

Similarly, with 28Degrees, they explicitly state from any store in Australia, however for a period of 12 months

If we were to just assume that the benefits were the same due to the provider, then you can bet half of Ozbargain would be jumping with joy at 28Degrees suddenly offering 2-year cover.

      • Kicking myself for getting the $379 ps4 1tb slim and three crappy games instead of THE PRO. I have the coles master card, but I guess since it's a bundle, I can't claim it right? Any thoughts guys?

        • Yeah can't claim when it's a bundle that's why I always make sure I buy standalone items like this that are more likely to be discounted in the long term

    • I don't believe coupon offers are covered

      • They are - I know that from previous experience. Question was more about whether Big W and Big W ebay are classified as the same store.

        • As @lime111 said, declined, I don't believe 28degrees accepts coupon code discounts

  • Done. Thanks OP!

  • I need one for March 2020 but I don't have ebay plus. GAH

    • Free trial?

Seems like a non-issue to me if that's what's stopping you.

    • +2

You're buying a year ahead? You're better off waiting next year and using the money for something elsw IMO.

    • +1

      why such a specific date?

if you willing to wait till 2020
then might as well wait for ps5 which most likely debut next year

      • -1

        cyberpunk i guess

      • +1

Looking forward to play the Final Fantasy VII Remake.

        • oic,
but waiting till march 2019, means is close to ps5 release
that I would rather get the ps5

there might even be possiblity it even have backwards compatability with ps4
if that is so, they you can save money on older console and get a newer gen console.

          • @pinkybrain: they confirmed that ps5 will have backwards compatibility so it's indeed better to wait for PS5, unless you want to play ff7 on release date (completely understandable).

  • Damn when I click it its showing me as $499, did it literally only run for like 2 hours or something stupid?

    • You need to apply the code at checkout, 10% off, 15% for Ebay plus

      • Ohhhh right thankyou! I did the code but didnt realise the Ebay +, thankyou :)

  • I bought and soldba ps4 slim 1tb which was replaced by a ps4 pro 1tb which I eventually also sold. Now I'm faced with having to buy another pro for upcoming Sony exclusive titles like lou2, death stranding and the ff7 remake or wait for the ps5 to be released. Anyone here with expert advice on what I should do? I don't mind waiting perhaps 3-6months after the games release to play it.

    • +2

LOL, who is considered an expert to give such an expert advice?

If you want normal advice not expert..

how desperate are you to play those games and why did you sell both your consoles in the first place?
there is strong rumours that ps5 will be released next year..of course not guarantteed..

Now if I knew ps5 would be released 2020 then I would definitely get it over the older gen console
but of course the games libraries would not be as big so that is another issue..
and those games you wanted to play most likely won't be on ps5, unless there is backwards compatibility
or wait for a possible re-released/remastered version on ps5 (and again not guaranteed and would also take some time for this to happen)..

Also another thing is, when ps5 released, ps4 consoles prices will drop more..
and also more second hand ps4 will be sold so you can get a ps4 much more cheaper…
So you can purchase the ps4 at that time at a much cheaper price and still play those games..

So I guess it all comes back to how much you really want to play those games..

      • +1

Haha the word expert was used very colloquially.

The ps5 is definitely backwards compatible. I guess my question was aimed at people who are also awaiting the ps5s release and are closely following the above mentioned games. They may have plotted out the most strategic time and order in which to purchase these games and ps5 where price point is the most competitive, as you've aptly pointed out, and when the opportunity cost is minimal.

        • LOL no one has or can plot the price point
since it would require info we don't have like release dates and cost of the ps5

All I know is I would get ps5 if it does come out next year

I will be able to play all the next gen games
and since it does have backwards compatibility it will mean I can still play all those games you listed.

No point wasting money on another ps4 when one console will do both

  • Too good to pass up on, time to work out how to sell my original PS4.

    • +1

Same here. Bought from this deal, now to sell the original ps4 from launch/pre-order. Did install the 2TB drive in it a couple of years ago. Any idea what the old ps4’s worth second hand?

      • $200-250 and depend on conditions and if it comes with box etc.

      • I did the same with a 2TB drive. Reckon you can just swap them?

  • +3

Awesome price but I dare say with the 'Plus Weekend' a 20% code will be available and if the prices stay at $499 it would bring it down to $399.
