Cheapest price for this model? I own the 55" variant and can vouch for it's quality. Good buy for this price IMO.

Sigh i think it's a great deal but i kinda want one with a stand in the middle, not on the sides. They mostly have side stands now tho : /

    • +3

      try this;

      https://www.davidjones.com/swiveling-tv-base-fits-tvs-32-60%…

I'd originally had a 40" mounted, now I have a 43". The stand outlast the TV.

      • Your link doesn't work anymore:(

        • yeah it didnt for me either, but surprisingly now it IS working again lol

      Same

I have this for my tv and it a very good stand.

      • +1

just too expensive considering the price of the TV. Same as the other one, i wouldnt pay that much just for a stand. Will just wait for a TV with a stand like that. Size shouldnt be prohibitive of this; my dad's Aldi Bauhn is 55 inch and it is a central stand one, this is only 43.

crazy how 43" is considered a bedroom size tv or kids room tv haha

    • 43" is the smallest 4K TV size. If you want anything smaller then it will either be HD 720p or FHD 1080p for a more reasonable bedroom size TV.

      • Alternative would be something like a 28" 4K monitor, hooked up with something like a chromecast or firestick.

        • +1

          What about audio?

      • I think Kogan still do a 40" - I'm always looking out for a 40" for my desk at work so I can have a 4k of space to work with. A BA behind me has one he picked up over seas for under $400 delivered (OZB I think) a year or so ago and its amazing how much more convenient it is. The massive amount of screen real estate is brilliant. I'm still holding out. And almost no one has 40" 4k now.

I wish they made 4K 32" TVs, would be the perfect size for a small bedroom. You can get a monitor but they come with limitations such as inputs and audio.

  • what would be better old model sony or for an extra $55 the new model Samsung Series 7 43" RU7100 4K UHD TV

    • +4

Some people will pick on different points between the two, but I'd rather the Sony personally. Their both relatively similar in spec, but I like the colours a little better on the Sony. The Samsung for me looks a little washed out and artificial in it's colours. Again, more personal preference than anything.

    • +3

Worth noting the Sony has an IPS panel and the Samsung a VA panel. I found this comparison Samsung RU7100 vs Sony X750F. I think the only difference between Sony X700F & X750F is screen size, 43"/49" and 55"/65" respectively.

      • +2

I used my $500 gift card at JB on Saturday to buy the Samsung RU7100 43inch as a monitor.
        I paid $675
In game mode, input lag is almost non existent and PQ of movies is simply stunning in 4K 60FPS

Adjusting windows mode to bigger applications (Win10) allows you to find a perfect size/ratio.

Highly recommend the RU7100 as a monitor and agree with this review first hand.

      • +1

X70F runs a Linux OS whereas X750F is Android TV

    • 🤔

  • Can we use it as a computer monitor? Does it have split screen option. Thinking if can be used a dual monitor in one hardware.

    • +1

It can definitely be used as a monitor, I'm just not sure how good an idea that is. It's definitely cheaper than a lot of smaller 4k computer monitors.

    • Any recommendations from those who use this a a monitor ??

    • +2

I would advise against using it as a computer monitor. TV's have higher input latency than monitor. I used a cheap TV for some time, it was great for software development but horrendous for mouse intensive tasks such as photo editing or even web browsing. I've also heard complaints about chroma sub-sampling differences between TV and computers, but I'm not sure exactly what the implications of that are.

Your mileage may vary given this is a brand name TV, but I'm not sure by how much.

  • Does this have bluetooth? Cant find any info on the product page

  • I wonder if the viewing angle is better on this 43"? I have the older 43" X800D and the off-axis viewing is diabolically narrow.

  • Which is better, Sony tvs or Samsung tvs? Like better colours, more features, bang for your buck, overall value, etc? The specs are similar but I can't decide which is better value (referring to brand because I haven't really looked into a lot of tv models yet).

  • Would this be the ideal size for a 3x3 bedroom or should I go 50"?

I've been told 50" is the minimum for 4k.

    • +11

Ideal tv size for a bedroom is 0"

      • It's for my MIL who lives with us.

If it improves her quality of life then I don't see why not.

    • I think 50" would look a bit ridiculous in a 9m2 space. My recommendation would be to use some masking tape on the wall to 'picture' different sizes and then base your decision on that.

      • I have 50" in my bedroom. The size is fine, not overkill even it covers 15% of the window. however, I do not use it. I still do other things in my bed with my missus. The above message 0" for the bedroom is the best reply with the subtext. :)

        • +1

The misses would probably want something bigger than 0” though

          • @The mikky: My misses is the happiest girl: She prefers my inches vs the 50" one, hence the TV in the bedroom not an issue at all :) It gives us more privacy near the window.

    • I have 4.2 X 3.8 bedroom and tried a 58". That looked huge, so back to old 42" LG now.

  • This or the 43 inch from Hisense that is $745 at JB from the Telstra offer?

    • There are 4 major competitors to chose from in the 1st place: SONY, LG, Samsung and Panasonic. This is a high league. I'd say Hisense would be a runner up brand after these 4 for a current/ similar model TV. Also, this one is cheaper

  • I hope EOFY makes 55" for a similar price

  • I have this TV and it's very nice, we paid around $800 for it not long ago….so great price.

    • How long does it take for the TV to turn on? Looking for fast boot speed

      • about 5 secs

    Also $595 @ JB Hifi
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/sony/sony-x70f-43-4k-hd-smart-led-…

Even better if you can get discounted gift cards…

    • $18 shipping.

  • +1

JB have these for $595 at the moment if you want to try before you buy: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/sony/sony-x70f-43-4k-hd-smart-led-…

    • Gone up to 695 now, I price matched @695 today at Big W AND got layby as well saved 254 and have till Christmas to pay it out really happy

  • +1

    Got one. Thanks!

  • +1

    $595 now at Amazon.

  • These jumped about $100 now at both JB and Amazon. Seemed like a really good deal. When you dont have a large living room 43-55 is about max you can go without it looking ridiculous.
