Friheten Sofa Bed $599 (Normally $859) + Shipping or Free Pickup Logan/Tempe at IKEA

920

Normally $849, I have one of these and it's pretty comfortable as a sofa, as a sofa bed and has storage underneath. I was looking for a second one and at this price I can't resist.

Or as Ikea put it - After a good night’s sleep, you can effortlessly convert your bedroom or guest room into a living room again. The built-in storage is easy to access and spacious enough to stow bedding, books and PJs.

Pretty sure that is what I paid for mine. Don't remember it being $849.

it looks like one of those "half-the-double" deal

    • Yes. I remember the same. I bought mine around 2014

Nice find. Can also vouch for the comfy-ness of this sofa bed.

It's also available in dark brown and orange. Shame the grey isn't on promo

    • +2

In bed mode it's not too bad, but I like a rather firm bed. As a couch, its way too unconformable for my liking.

      • +1

Agree, bought it in grey 2 years ago and need to get rid of it, horribly uncomfortable as a couch.

        • Do you offer free delivery?

          [/ozbargain]

It's a clever design but the cushions are rock hard + sharp edged armrest. Probably needs a few extra pillows.

    • This true, but it's not bad with a couple of cushions.

In terms of sleeping, its not too bad for a night or two. For anything longer, store an underlay or a 2" memory foam mattress in the storage with the blankets and it is super comfortable.

Dunno..this sofa bed sorta scares me.

    • Friheten means freedom, so not sure why IKEA is selling it…

      • +3

        Freedom is not for free

    • +3

Nothing to be Frihetened of. Based on the comments its sold out.

This is one of the most amazing buys! I've had it since Feb 2014, it's still going strong, both as sofa, or as bed! When it's opened up as a bed, you can also use the underneath of the bed as storage. Great stuff! I remember paying low $600s for it.

Seconded. I think I paid 899 (may have been 799) for the grey about 3 years ago. One of my best buys. It has turned out to be a very durable, and versatile piece of furniture. It's so easy to pull out into the sofa bed config, and pack away again. We have mainly used this as a sofa with full length chaise for watching TV.

Not sure about everyone else but this deal scares me.

      I'd check back tomorrow morning

  • Could save with Ikea Giftcards purchased from AMEX deal a while back.

    • +1

Can't use the gift cards online, so you'd have to go into the store

  • these are great

so i'm sure its all made from china, but I bought a similar couch from Luxo living.
When i purchased it last year, I could only buy it from their melb shop which shipping was expensive ($313+$147) and with discount it was $443.90

Now they have a sydney shop and whilst its not as cheap as last year, its cheaper than the Ikea one.
For sydney siders anyway, this would cost you $460 incl delivery

      plus 3.5% shopback.

    • whats the quality like?

everything is so cheap…im skeptical haha :/

      • well the one i bought from luxo living is not bad, i can't compare to the ikea one but its basically identical lol so maybe ikea uses a different material but it looks the same to me anyway

  • +1

Not sure how everyone days it's comfy, it's rock hard as a couch

  • +1

i've had this for a year and completely forgot about the storage after i set it up, thanks!

  • 0 stock everywhere

  • Was ok for a while but it's so firm that you definitely need some sort of topper for a good night sleep but it is tough as old boots.

  • SA out of stock adelaide folk

  • +1

    Very very friheten

  • Great deal! Wanted the dark grey but wasn't discounted unfortunately :(

  • I've got 2 of these and love them! One of mine is like the one listed but in orange with the chaise. The other is same colour as pictured but the normal 3 seater. I find it very comfy to fall asleep on.

Got both mine I think for $699 each back in 2016.

  • saw this last week, only beige and brown are on special, and there is no light grey color in the options, which is the one i'm seeking

  • +1

I have one and it is not tooo bad. It could be a little bit more comfortable tho.
It is easy to assembly as well, and the L can be in the left or right side.
But yes, I paid $800+ so this price is making me mad right now hahaha

  • I have one as well. After 3 years it becomes a bit soggy and way less comfortable. Good enough for the occasional guest, but no longer than a couple of nights.
