    For all Fuel Additives

    Snake oil is cheaper…

  • Good value, I used to swear by this on my old 1HZ.

    Coincidentally, it also blew up.

    I don't use it anymore.

    • Curious. My + was countered… there's a lot of anecdotal evidence this works, no real science I've ever been able to find. Enjoyed the irony of your post, the 1HZ has a curious mystique…

Peter Brock endorsed it along with the Energy Polarizer

So many Bathurst wins, he can't be wrong!!

I don't recall Peter Brock winning Bathurst with a diesel powered motor.

      • Yeah look anecdotally I felt like it did something, specifically at the bowser. Not in terms of "ooh she feels more peppy", but that was before I tracked my usage more strictly.

Why wouldn't a fuel maker just add this if it improved things so wildly along with a nice premium at the pump.

        • I guess the main reason is cost, it wouldn't make sense for them to add this and price their diesel a few cents more than the competitors. Also it wouldn't be viable to add new tanks and pumps at servos just for a Chemtech enhanced diesel unlike petrol which has multiple premium fuel blends.

          • @LowRange: If the products claims could be completely substantiated I'm sure the value proposition is there, wouldn't you pay a few cents for the privilege?

Many servos already have Truck diesel and Premium diesel, could easily replace the latter.

            • @cruiseronroad: It depends. Diesel passenger vehicles are in the minority, and a niche diesel type wouldn't have the turnover of regular diesel. So in that case i'd rather get the diesel from a source with a higher turnover and treat it myself.

              • @LowRange: That's a really good point on diesel turnover.

In my head it would be similar to how alpine diesel works, in alpine regions its not a minority it just is "diesel"

  • Nice. This gives my diesel 4wd an extra km per litre. I hope it does everything else its meant to that i cant see.

  • Good deal thanks, it's always worth stocking up on few bottles at this price.

  • Inhibits growth of algae and bacteria

You know, I have never had a mechanic say to me "You've got a build up of algae or bacteria in your engine".

Nice to know this will inhibit it though!

It's a problem with diesel vehicles, if you get water/moisture in your tank the bacteria grows between the water and diesel layer and will create sludge, block filters etc and cause lots of problems.

It can happen with temperature extremes like hots days and cold nights creating condensation, or if you do remote travel and get fuel from less than stellar servos. If you just fuel up in the city, lock your vehicle in the garage each night you are far less likely to have a problem. Still doesn't hurt to treat the tank every few fuel ups.

Is this necessary? Doesn't good quality diesel from BP or Costco have additives that is meant to clean the engine and injectors?
