eBay Is Having Troubles- Looks Like The Problems Have Been Getting Much Worse over The Last Few Hours

Various errors depending on what they are doing- but the database linking everything seems not to be working when I can get a page to load, so actions including basic things like searching for an item don't respond.

Examples

Hitting the home page https://www.ebay.com.au

A delay, then the browser returns
Content Encoding Error

An error occurred during a connection to www.ebay.com.au.

Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

Searching for something:
HTTP 1.1 Content not available (IIRC)

The service monitoring pages are all reporting it.

Good luck if you want to buy anything.

Seems to be affecting ALL the ebay domains too… make a note to change your password as soon as you can- you can make it 99 characters long now, which makes it harder for all those b4dhatz out there cracking your (their) dumped hashes

Grab your popcorn: How long will it be down?

Comments

  • Seems to be mostly ok now. A little slow but functional

    • +1 But I'm only able to search for items located in the US. Do you see aussie stuff in your searches?

The things I wanted are not there at all

      • Yeah, from eBay AU

        • Thanks! .au is searching AU stuff now, but recent solds and so on are not showing up, so the stuff I was after has disappeared.

Maybe they restored from a recent backup. If so, how long will it last?

    Where's the "who cares?" option?
