Heart SALT 200g $2 (Normally $3) @ Coles In-Store & Online

80

The NBI team are excited to let the OzBargain Community know that our Heart SALT (200g) product is now on sale at Coles :)

As an introduction to who we are:
NBI is an Australian-owned business dedicated towards putting people's health and wellness first.
We achieve this by creating a variety of health and nutrition products, such as Heart SALT.

About Heart SALT:
We know that it's the high levels of sodium in salt which can lead to high blood pressure and heart disease.
It's why we developed our Heart SALT product.
Heart SALT contains 56% less sodium than regular salt, but still has the great salt taste, making it a healthier alternative.

This deal expires on 18/06/2019.

This is our first post but hopefully we've covered everything.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask :)

Regards,

The NBI Team

  • $10 for 1kg , I won't be able to take anything with a pinch of salt anymore.

your pun leaves me feeling assaulted

  • salt in the heart?

  • Its a good product for keto.

    • Ummm, on keto you want way more sodium than normal, not less.

      • +1

No you need a combination of sodium, potassium and magnesium.

Generally you already have enough sodium with your keto foods so you need extra potassium and potentially magnesium.

This is a good balance of sodium and potassium.

        • No you need a combination of sodium, potassium and magnesium.

          Which wasn't mentioned initially…

But yes, in general you need those things including a fair bit more sodium to enable the proper uptake of potassium.

I thought you meant cutting ketamine.

  • +2

Chemical makeup of salt determines that's not possible. Unless you are combining the NaCl with KCl?

    • Hi DianaOfAmazonia,

Yes, we are combining NaCl with KCl :)

      Cheers,

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potassium_chloride
It is odorless and has a white or colorless vitreous crystal appearance. The solid dissolves readily in water and its solutions have a salt-like taste.
In a few states of the United States it is used to cause cardiac arrest as the third drug in the "three drug cocktail" for executions by lethal injection.
The majority of the potassium chloride produced is used for making fertilizer
Complaints of bitterness or a chemical or metallic taste are also reported with potassium chloride used in food
The typical amounts of potassium chloride found in the diet appear to be generally safe. In larger quantities, however, potassium chloride is toxic.

        …. hmmm awesome.

  • Is this just Potassium ?

Too much potassium in your blood can lead to dangerous, and possibly deadly, changes in heart rhythm…

    Who shouldn't use a sodium-replacement salt?

Unfortunately not everyone should use a sodium-replacement salt. If you have kidney disease, or are taking certain blood pressure medications, a large increase in potassium could be harmful. Please check with your doctor before using a sodium-replacement salt.

I think this deal should be removed before somebody dies…

      • We should also remove the Alcohol deal up there too since people could over consume that too :o

    $10/kg for salt - I think I'm having a heart attack🚑

    contains 56% less sodium
Could reduce ordinary salt intake by 56% & save on ordinary salt & buying "Heart SALT"💰
(My reduction was around that level - almost no fries, no crisps, minimal packaged goods, mainly cook own meals from fresh / little processed ingredients & avoid adding salt, etc.
Under medical specialist advice, testing & supervision. Genetics aren't promising - most of Father's side of family had major coronaries by age 62. About half died due to that event.)

I won't be using this as have recently been assessed as having too high potassium levels 📈
