    No it can't. I have one of these, the weight of the phone makes the left and right bit clamp together. So landscape won't work.

    Item received quite quickly and is now installed.
    Works OK with S7.
    The two supplied plastic mounting brackets are a bit too flimsy:
    - smaller clip-type kept sliding off the car vent.
    - triangular type had a weird mounting angle that just didn't hold securely in any location.

    Had to use a cable tie (discretely) to hold it in place properly - holds OK now.
    It's far from what I would call a solid unit (there's quite a few plastic/moving parts), but it's OK for $25.

  and how close is 10watts to a cable charge?
  Edit, the S7 charges up to 15 watts, that's another third faster via cable.
  I think I'll stick with cable for now
