7% feedback? You mean cash back right? Haha

    • +8

Nah he means Shopback will give you feedback, but only 7% of it mind!!

  • +2

I've always wanted feedback on my purchase. I wonder how the algorithm works to know how much 7% is.

The pasta is $1.95, but requires cooking.

      • +1

I was a little scared of that one haven't read all the fine details in t@c's .

      • +2

it would probably taste better cooked, but doesn't require it… it's a crunchy TV snack.

      • +1

Not if you have a child who is into craft with pasta👶

  • They're peddling all the stuff that's good for you.

  • +1

some of the grocery products on Amazon are pretty good. We rip through Milo and it's a decent price. Definitely hit and miss though; I always do a quick compare to ColesWorth as some items are a bad price.

          • @OzBargain F5er: Bought $400+ fridge (recent Deal here) on other Amazon account. Was incorrectly described on Amazon. Lodged complaint - $100 refunded by 3rd party merchant.

How can this be profitable for Amazon and shopback? Surely they can provide better promotions then a free snack delivered. It just seems a waste of packaging and postage when they are sending out things u can pick up easily in your weekly shop. Am i alone in thinking this?

    • +2

Amazon's prime goal is customer acquisition and not profitability. Profitability will come when they have 15 million australian customers on their database.

    • No, you are not alone in thinking this. There is a tonne of packaging with Amazon, especially the glass jars.

Some idiot might buy one product and get it free after cash back, but the cost to the system (economy, environment, etc.) is far greater.

      • With over 1100 clicks so far & 127 upvotes - that's a lot of Ozbargainers you're calling idiots😱

ShopBack & Amazon have designed the promotion this way. There is no incentive to buy more than 1 item. Take up your complaint with them.
Yes, it is wasteful to resources. So agree with your broad sentiment.

It is usually unwise to get between an Ozbargainer & a freebie😉

Obviously, I am on OzBargain for the bargains. And this is definitely a bargain (for us). So we placed 2 separate orders (1 pasta & 1 sauce) for household, with expected 33c profit.

Did I really need it? No, but I'll enjoy it.
Was it's bit of fun? Yes, it's free stuff
Did I order knowing about the unintended consequences? Yes.
But, are we idiots for taking up this offer?

Haven't you noticed in your 10 years with OzBargain - that's what a lot of Ozbargainers do.

If you want to criticise Ozbargainers - post a forum topic telling us we're idiots😉

        • What about all those packages of free/cheap stuff from China so many bought… & may never use.

No worries. I was one of those idiots/fun seekers too, but I suppose over time I realised the impact of my actions on the environment. I made it independently of what others did/still do.

          • +1

@ihbh: Acknowledge your personal choice & strong will👍

As life becomes more hectic, I find it harder to have the time & spare cognitive capacity to weigh up all the options & consequences (as I used to)… clicking "buy" is far too easy.
Of course that is what this promotion is aimed at achieving - training us to just click buy @Amazon.

I have a few boxes of nearly free stuff from China - slowly being given away. Stopped ordering last year. (Removed China orders in comment above)

The joy of the cheap purchase rarely matches the reality of the plastic gadget long after delivery.

At least the pasta & sauce will make a few good meals (after all the packaging is removed)🍝

            • @INFIDEL: Delivered - thankfully minimal packaging. 2 orders in same small carton with easily removed tape, bottle wrapped in small amount of bubble wrap.

        • -1

Definitely not saying that anyone is an idiot for taking advantage of free stuff. Just that i find it uninteresting to receive something so readily available in the mail. Sometimes its about the buzz you get when you pick up your order and sorry but a jar of Dolmio just does do it for me- not even for free.

Has TeeVees gone up in price?

  • FYI for those people that have a voucher attached to their Amazon account from the cancelled WD drives, if you use the credit that will most likely void the cashback:(

  • +1

Arnott's TeeVee Snacks Malt Sticks 175g seems to be sold out.

Does the "Arnott's TeeVee Snacks Original Biscuit Bites, 175 Grams" qualify?
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Arnotts-TeeVee-Snacks-Original-Bis…

    • Unfortunately no it would not qualify, as that is a different product.

  • +1

The San Remo pasta at $1.95 seems to have sold out. Does anyone know if the other San Remo pasta at other prices ($2.79 & $4.95) qualify for the ShopBack cash back?:

    https://www.amazon.com.au/San-Remo-SR2336-Penne-500g/dp/B012…

    • +1

The item would need to be sold by Amazon AU.

      • Thanks. That means it’s been sold out.

  • +1

Will i get the $2 bonus if I searched for the qualifying product manually then add to cart?

    • +1

It won't matter how you do it (search vs. clicking directly from our promo page), as long as your purchase tracks you get the $2 bonus.

To ensure it tracks you just need to make sure your cart is empty before clicking through ShopBack, and you only add items after clicking through.

  • Anyone’s cash back show up yet? Bought yesterday, hasn’t shown. Followed the link directly to the product from shopback. Their amazon purchases usually show up by the following day

    • Mine hadn't either, will hopefully show up on Monday

  • If the item I buy is on back order when I purchase it, will I sill qualify for the $2 cashback?

    • It must be shipped within 60 days of purchase to qualify.

  • Dammit the cheap items are all out of stock. Not spending more than $5…

  • Delivered🍝

  • Anyone knows why expedited delivery sent on Saturday will be delivered this Friday, meaning 5 working days for delivery instead of guaranteed 2 ?
