I’m interested to get peoples opinion on this. Fantastic snack have a new competition. It sounds good they claim to be giving away a $5000 flight centre gift voucher a day + 10 $20 eftpos gift vouchers. But to win the major $5000 prize. You have to crack the code. You have 8 icons and have to get them in the exact same spot as the daily code provided by fantastic snacks. If this code isn’t cracked the voucher isn’t awarded to anyone. So basically it a code that gives you a 1 in 40,300 chance of winning. They have made a competition that is almost impossible for anyone to win. ? What do you think about this. Should it be allowed. I’m sure these days no one has the time to read the terms and conditions most people entering wouldn’t be aware they have no chance of winning. Sneaky way of getting you to buy their product.

Probability
The probability of correctly guessing the exact correct combination (in correct order) of 8 randomly selected icons in any one guess is 1 in 40,320because they should give everyone a $5,000 prize because that would be a good business model.?
It happens. Smiths had a comp where if you were the major winner, you had a 1 in 100 chance of winning the $1mil. 94 in 100 chance of winning $2,000 and $400 worth of chips. You wouldn't realise unless you read the terms, based on how they advertised
Comp post is here, for anyone wanting the info on the Fantastic crackers comp
How about this in the terms:
If you correctly guess the exact Precise Winning Combination for that day, you will win the major prize for that day. If more than one entrant correctly guesses the
exact Precise Winning Combination for that day, then each entrant will win an equal share of the major prize for that day.So if you were unlucky enough that you and someone else gets it right that day, you split the $5k lol
People will whinge about anything these days! There is a chance to win ffs
People making misleading, clickbait titles - What do you think about this? Should it be allowed?
1 in 40k chance. So you're telling me there's a chance!?!?!
On a side note, Powerball is what, 1 in 50 million, and people line up to pay to have that chance…..
