4 Slice Toaster

Mainly looking for reliable 4 slice toasters so basically either give recommendations for good solid 4 slice toasters you know don't break down or warn myself and others about 4 slice toasters that have broken down on you or performed terribly for you or your household.

Ironically my household have gone through 3 toasters and returned 1 in the span of a few years with the most recent one dying literally within a few days.

So am coming here for some recommendations or warnings.

Must be 4 slice.

This is what we have, can recommend.

  • I have one of these, that I won it in a competition here :)

  • Go to a public library and look through their recent issues of Choice magazine to find toaster reviews.

    • Anyone got a Choice magazine subscription message here now.

Yes - I pay for it.

Do you need to know how to join?

        • I need to know how I can see one article and then leave it for awhile.

  • So far I just know to stay away from the generic no name ultra cheap "brands" and Sunbeam thanks to reviews and other anecdotes from toaster owners.

Get one with 2 long slits rather than 4 parallel slits - great when you want to toast something longer that isn't your standard square loaf

  • Bought this one off Amazon for $25: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B076HM2Y43/ref=ppx_yo_d…

The third element has failed. Pretty disappointing. Still under warranty so might send it in for repair but probably wont get it back for a few weeks.

    • I wonder what it is that make toasters fail so often.

For me it was the pull down mechanism that broke and wouldn't stay locked/down.

  • I would recommend the Kitchen Aid Artisan 4 Slice Toaster. All-Metal construction and two year manufacturer's warranty.

  • Bought Breville BTA440BSS a bit more toaster for $59 from Amazon (-10% cashrewards) few months ago.

Quite happy with it… But I bought it as my few years old Breville 2 slice a bit more toaster got toasted so i cannot comment about the quality, yet.

Yepp !! thats the one i bought BTA440BSS. Because of the long slot it can toast the home made bread too

  • I've got the Sunbeam Maestro (TA6440)….a bit pricey at @$100…..but for me totally worth it.
The best feature is the countdown timer….so you can see exactly how long it has to go before it "pops" up…..and you can adjust that time up or down whilst it is cooking. 2 long slots to enable 4 slices…or 2 long slices of bread.

I've had this one for several years without any concerns.

    Good luck with your hunt.

    • Wow I didn't know there was a toaster with a timer that's pretty cool.

  • I got a cheap long Sunbeam 6 years ago which is still going strong. If I were to replace it I'd be looking at DeLonghi just because I like their style.

  • This is the one I have
