The reviews are not that great and recommend the MX500 but at this price, can't really complain. Especially when the MX500 costs 28% more ($164) for the 1TB variant and the 860 EVO costs 35% more ($183.20) for it's 1TB variant, both at Futu's eBay store (if you have eBay Plus, so they're slightly more expensive if you include the postage or get it from somewhere else).

    • 1TB 860 EVO from wireless1 ebay.com.au with PAPPY ebay plus come to 177ish ($22 cash back from SAMSUNG, come around $155).

      • That sure makes the Crucial as an apps/game or general data drive, great value.

Dunno why you got downvoted but I appreciate your post. Quality of the SDD should not be cheapen on as data is not something that can be afford to fail.

      • Quality of the SDD should not be cheapen on as data is not something that can be afford to fail.

Every SSD has a failure rate so with that strategy all you are doing is making it slightly less likely that you will suffer one.

The gap in reliability is so small that you shouldn't take that into consideration if you are a normal consumer.

All storage should be considered unreliable and therefore you need to run backups.

  • What type of users are suited to the BX range and the MX range?

    • I bought mine for my ps4 as it’s more consistent than the hybrid drive for similar pricing

    • The MX competes with the other top SATA drives such as the Samsung 860(The Samsung is better).
This BX should be good for a games drive, or to launch any other app, if you are after the cheapest solution.

The BX range slow down to around 100MBps once more than a few GB is being copied on to it in one action. Basically anyone working with media including video is going to see speeds drop badly. If you are just browsing the web or working on a few documents, then it will be fine.
