Looking to get a budget DSLR for an upcoming Europe trip in July. Anyone know where I can get either the Canon 1100D or 600D for cheap. Australian retailers only please.
Canon 1100D or 600D

The K-x has been around since 2009. Guess I'm the type who likes new things. I'm also much more familiar with Canon menus as I've only ever used Canon P&S cameras.
I was looking at the canon 1100d as well. In the end I think I am going to opt for the Nikon D3100.
I'd say Nikon too, Given that ur heading to europe with its random overcast weather and night shots, you're better off with Nikon sensors. D5100 will get my vote. I work at a retailer (Not going to name it, not here to promote myself). But given the current shortages, Prices are higher than say Pre-sendai earth quake prices.
Don't forget to buy it within a month of traveling so you can claim the tax back!
Exactly what I plan to do. Thanks for the advice on the D5100. Will consider it.
Just get the 550D. It's $100 - $150 cheaper than the 600D and just doesn't have the articulated screen.
Finally settled on a Pentax K-X. It was on clearance at my local OfficeWorks for 360 bucks inclusive of 18-55 kit lens. Couldn't resist it.
JB had the 600D with twin IS lens kit for $1300 in this weeks catalogue.
Why are you looking only at Canon?
I'm starting to look around and from what I've read, the Pentax K-x is the best value mid-low range camera at the moment.
