How much does it cost to move bitcoin around these days .. wasn't it like $20 when the price was sky high?

    • Hey there!

The current cost of a BTC transaction looks to be about $4 USD. You can see the history of this over time here: https://bitcoinfees.info/

You don't have to worry about this transaction cost with our service. We have made it easy to invest in digital assets like Bitcoin without having to worry about things like transaction fees. Hope that helps!

FYI - The app is free but the service is not

    • Yep! Good point.

More details on our fees can be found here: Bamboo Pricing

Started sign up process and found it wants direct access to my bank accounts, including banking ID and password.

    No.

    • +1

      Hell no

    • -4

Hey there! We do this to be able to monitor transaction amounts to easily round up your spare change. We work in the same way as Raiz Australia and other similar round-up apps.

Thanks for taking a look at the app and providing your feedback!

Those with coinbase account, do the Earn Quizzes for $10 usd xlm. Costs basically nothinv to move it around and sends almost instantly.

    • Awesome tip.

Another one of those pimp your credentials app/service in exchange for a mealy fee. Who knows what they do.

    • Thanks Mel-waukee. We securely request your credentials so that we can easily round up transactions to make investing easier. See more here

We use the same levels of security as your mobile banking applications and we never store your credentials. Happy to answer any questions anyone has.

  • Better alternatives out there with less fees. Go to the Australian exchanges directly: Independent Reserve, BTC Markets or Coinjar Exchange, etc.

See article here: How to buy Bitcoin with AUD in Australia?

Fees of 0.5% per month is too high; compounded, this equates to 5-6% per annum. Compare this to dollar cost averaging by buying Bitcoin with the exchanges above, which at most sets you back at a flat fee of 0.5-0.85% every purchase.

Also… Bitcoin mantra: Not your keys, not your coins! Do not store coins on exchanges and app wallets long term. They have a tendency of magically disappearing. Use hardware wallets!

    • Hey Ozhzb!

There are definitely good alternatives out there for those who want to buy BTC and other cryptocurrencies directly on an exchange. We designed Bamboo for the people who want an easier solution, that lets them do things like dollar cost average automatically. Also - exchanges like Independent Reserve now have insurance for what you hold on exchange.

  • Recent story on a different program that offers free Bitcoin. The initial offering gets you into the system, where they lure you to download and install various types of malware. https://micky.com.au/alert-new-app-promises-free-bitcoin-and…

Yes but there is a huge difference between an App in Apple's App Store that has to pass the review process every time and one from a shady website.

Cos it went so well last time

      • Yep! We tried to take the feedback and integrate it into this new offer. I've been a longtime user of this site and the community is awesome, so we will keep working with everyone until we have an offer that you guys love.

        • Would you be able to give us some idea of how you've integrated community feedback into this new offer?

          • @Soapdroid: Sure! From the comments on the last offer, we adjusted the following:

            1. We added a general overview of the application and its purpose.
            2. We provided more detail around the pricing and fee's associated with using Bamboo.
            3. Based on one comment relating to recent scam activity, we provided a link to Finder who has reviewed our platform to help people get an objective overview of our app.
            4. We listed that an Australian bank account is a requirement for sign up.

If there are other things we could be doing to create a better offer for the community, love to hear it.

            • @GetBamboo: Did you also mention you require the login ID and password for said bank account at point 4 above. Lol

              • @Coops1: Thanks Coops1. Good point. I've updated the post to list that clearly.

Is this the app that requires direct access to your bank account ?

      • JV,

Yes. We have done this as we are a spare change app that automatically rounds up your spare change and lets you easily purchase digital assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum using that spare change. Additionally, compared to other methods of buying Bitcoin, it is a simpler process than doing an identity verification as is required on cryptocurrency exchanges.

This method is identical to other apps like Raiz Australia.

        • Yes.

Not sure I can trust some random, unknown company with direct access to my account.

          • @jv: Thanks JV. We understand that. We are working on other ways for users to use our platform that meet regulatory requirements but that people are comfortable with. Appreciate the feedback.

Soon we'll be able to throw a bitcoin millionaires party like it's 2017 again.

$5 cant even put it on Bitmex long

  • How to withdraw the $5 bitcoin to your own wallet?

    • Our platform is designed to easily buy and sell digital assets. At the moment, you can only withdraw cash from the platform after selling your digital assets. We are looking into being able to provide withdrawal options for digital assets into other wallets.

      • BAM tokens are required to get the full benefit of the Bamboo platform because they are used in the calculation, payment and settlement of management fees for your investment into cryptographic assets on the Bamboo platform.

I'm trying to understand why the BAM Tokens are required. Why can't those things be done without a token?

Have you got a working link to the whitepaper?

        https://www.getbamboo.io/whitepaper.html

        https://www.getbamboo.io/whitepaper/bamboo-whitepaper-v1_0_1…

I found those 2, but both links are broken.

        Also, what's the contract address?

  • I feel this needs a poll.

    1) Holy (profanity) what could possibly go wrong?!
