  • Is this the one you use with the chisels?

Cheap enough to use in the bedroom!

Depends on the attachments you need to use… :/

Gives a new meaning to drilling your wife.

I prefer to use my jackhammer for that job

Is this gonna last drilling masonry? Probs worth a punt at that price but is it just gonna die after a year or so

    • +3

Yer, but that’s a lot of holes after a year :)

Use Sutton's Masonry Drill Bits and you'll be sweet.

I used this one and did a garage full of shelving with no dramas.

Probably won't die but getting out the extension cord and working with power leads in tricky places gets old fast. I'd save up the extra for an inexpensive percussion drill (e.g. Ozito Power X hammer drill) and it'll go through masonry quicker than even cheap corded drills with 'hammer function'.

      • Agreed. This corded "impact" drill will quickly turn into a no-impact drill. Still a good buy for the price.

Have had this for about 5 years and we've lived in two apartments with internal masonry (was cinder block, now brick) walls, drilled countless holes, I'd say on average I'd only use it 5-6 times a year though, the cardboard box it came in didn't last but the drill itself is fine.

It looks rough and not put together particularly well, the chuck key doesn't quite mesh properly (slips very easily), but at that price it does the job.

I am not a club plus member. Can I join online and use the $10 credit towards the price, effectively making it $8.5 ($13.5 - $5 membership cost + $10 credit)

    • +2

      Idon't see why not.

    • +2

I just did it and it worked. $8.50 for a drill isn't bad, we'll see how long it lasts before throwing it in.

      • +1

        Plus cashrewards of course

      • How long until you receive the $10 credit? I just signed up and have not received it.

        • Same here, still haven't received the credit. Might just buy it at $13.50 and use the credit for the future.

          • @JD9151: Just have to confirm your account through email, then log out and back in. Worked fine. OP could change description to $8.50 drill!

            • @SanAndreas23: Tried that and didn't work but I've checked just now and the credit is there. Disappointed that I got impatient but I'm sure I'll find a use for it on something else.

        • Didn't receive anything telling me i had the credit but when i checked my account it was there.

  • Can this be ok to drill through walls?
