it's a tough choice between the two.
The Mavic Pro has longer flight time and uses ocusync, but the air is more compact, has a higher recording bitrate, slightly wider field of view etc.

If you already had a Mavic Pro, probably not worth the upgrade but picking a first drone between the two I'd go for the air.
Camera quality wise (video and photo) both are very similar but their air has a slight edge - mavic air does 1080p 120fps but the pro doesnt. The air also has 100Mbps where as the pro only does 60Mbps.
Battery wise mavic pro will last a couple minutes longer - wont really be too much of a difference in real life usage
Range wise the mavic pro definitely wins, but I haven't ever been limited due to range with the mavic air either.
Size wise the air definitely wins - has virtually the same footprint folded up as large smartphones.

I tried to price match with Office Works East Vic Park in Perth but as you guessed, they did not, as one has to enter an electronic code. So I just chose click and collect from Australian Geographic. Still a great price.
I was able to price match at JB Elizabeth St Melbourne. $1279
