Can the garlic and basil tomatoes be used as pasta sauce?
Probably needs parmesan, but I think a big yes. The plain canned tomatoes here are too bland by themself but garlic and basil makes a good cheap sauce by itself, great with cheese.
Just brown diced onions and reduce heat to low. Add tin tomatoes and fresh basil and simmer for ten minutes. Easiest pasta sauce ever
All imported….. Support locals, buy Aussie grown.
Genuine Italian tin tomatoes are product of Italy. Good thing we got Sherlock on the case.
You know we grow tomatoes locally that are of equal quality or better? They're also not 12 months old by the time they're shipped from the other side of the world to arrive on your shelf.
Support local jobs and buy locally made products.
What car do you own?
@Joey Jo Jo: Hope it's a Ford Capri.
@[Deactivated]: OMG are there any of those still left!?
@Joey Jo Jo: A put together in Australia car if you must know. We did make them up till a few years ago!
@JimmyF: Yeah and I bet it's a total shitbox thats market value is not even 10% of what it sold for new XD
@Joey Jo Jo: You sound like a lovely person Joey Jo Jo. Can't wait till you're unemployed as no one wants your unskilled labour.
@JimmyF: University graduate in a cushy government job.
Was at Woolies today, those cans you recommend are more expensive than these Italian ones when they're not on special. Italy is known for it's food and cars, unlike Australia. I bought 8 cans of my superior Roma tomatoes at less than half the cost of the local ones - baragin big time
Agreed. Edgell every time.
These are 2 for $2 at coles at the moment.
Which is your favourite? I find the borlotti a bit overcooked. The garlic and basil tomatoes are great.
