I got a whole bunch of these the last time there was a similar deal. The cables are poor quality. The USB type C ones worked for a week then the connections were unreliable. The usb c end that connects to my phone had to be wobbled and reconnected several times for it to work.
For type C and lightning cables, you get what you pay for. I have stopped buying cheap cables.
Thanks I’ll steer clear.
I’m keen too Grab some from amazon (got credit) - amazon basics seems reasonable. What CtoC cables does everyone recommend?
As a slight addition to this, I find the CONSTRUCTION quality to be exceptional. The design however of the cable and connector does make it wobble a bit, and it seems to have some issues charging occasionally. Bit odd, and a bit disappointing considering how well built they are. The amount of abuse mine has seen, they've structurally held up better than the stock cable I got with my pixel 2.
This is from 5 minutes ago: was connected to my iPad, pulled it out gently. The connector bit was left stuck in the port!

(Lightning cable not usb type c)
Haha I love the commitment to come back and update us. To quote gen x, I'm so proud of this community. Oh boy that's a rubbish looking cable. The ones I have from baseus have excellent (looking?) build quality. Well wrapped. Single piece metal connector.
@incipient: The first thought I had when this happened was - must warn my mates at OzBargain.
Yeah the other cables I have from BaseUs are braided. They seem to be of better quality.

Not necessarily. I'm no teardown junkie but 've found the premium China brands such as blitzwolf, anker, nekteck etc to be better than more expensive brands such as belkin etc.
Also got these on the last deal but have had a completely different experience. Might have been quite decent.
What's up with these cables. I got two and both work well with usb c phone & laptop charging.
I just wanted to add I bought the type C to C in the last deal and it's been working very well for both Galaxy phone and Dell laptop, no connection issues.
Travelled with this for 3 weeks and the build of the cable is holding up well with the Cygnett 20,000 USB-PD powerbank.
Can these do video too?
Don;t think so. Can do data at 480Mbps only.
Do you know what data rate is needed?
Are these any good for an iPad pro 2018 and Switch ? Looking to get some C to C cables.
