  • Is the number and towards the end the year of release?
    e.g.: "17A" = 2017?

    FWIW, Soniq TVs are rubbish.

I've collected three off the side of the road, all different models, all with the exact same fault.

It's a very cheap and easy fix if you know what you're doing, but they're just cheap trash. Probably why there's so many refurbs being offered here.

    Save your pennies!

May be shed some light what the fault is and how to fix it :)

One of the voltage regs lets go. If you're handy with a multimeter and a soldering iron, you'll be able to figure it out super quick as there's only a few on the board. You'll fix the problem for $1 and still have the parts leftover to fix 4 more ;)

    • FWIW I inherited one for use in the bedroom and it's been pretty solid for a few years now. I have an OLED in the living room but would happily invest in another Soniq for a lesser used set.

Brand new for $389, refurbished is $349. That's a measly discount for a used item.
