Minecraft isn’t a play anywhere title. Basically Xbox minecraft is for Xbox only. Windows 10 minecraft is for PC only.
ok well we have xbox edition on the pc. no idea.
In comparison to the $2.5 billion Microsoft paid for Minecraft, this is quite a bargain.
They need to sell this to a billion people to get their money back.

Hi Guys, noop question. My son nagged me to buy this for him so i bought it, but just realised the purchase is only for an activation code, how do i download the actual game itself so i can activate? thanks! Went to Microsoft website and i can see they have minecraft on sale for around $25, is this means i have to i need to buy the game and download the game first Microsoft?
In the Windows Store, go to the '3 dots' in the top right corner and you'll see 'activate a code'

You might want to get your son the java edition version of this game. If he watches minecraft youtubers and the sort nine times out of ten they are using the java edition. If you're wondering the differences are bedrock can't play with java edition but can play with other platforms such as xbox and nintendo switch, bedrock has neither the modding community nor moddability and there are mechanical differences.
