Bought s10 at the last deal at 30% off, only downside is probably battery life is just average. Otherwise pretty good phone.

    • +1

Yeh I agree, my s10e is at 30% battery at 7pm after taking out from the charger at 9am

      • +1

hhmm really? are you a heavy user?

        • nup, just some facebook browsing every now and then during work hours.

    • +1

Eh I get 5-6 SOT with around 15%-20% battery left by the end of the day

      • SOT?

        excuse my ignorance

        • +1

Screen on Time. I had to Google it lol.

      • Yeah with the latest april update I get about that.

  • +2

    the price drop is real….

  • +6

Crazy drops in price after only 2 months. Far bigger than ever before. Seems like no one is buying them.

    • +10

I think Samsung is after marketshares. Not the case of people not buying them.

    • +1

These are not crazy drops, it's not normal mainstream price, it's an offer for partners.

I actually expected that this would be mainstream price by now and it seems to me that they do sell well.

    • I guess by the end of the year before the new note phone releases the s10+ will be under $1000 RRP

    • Samsung released S10 5G in some markets (where 5G is available).

  • +1

Wow Amazing deal. I was going to get a Tab S5e, might just get a phone instead!

    • +1

lol .. me too .. thinking of both!?

      • Haha, I know right. The prices are actually really good and straight from Samsung! But oh man, played with an S5e today. Amazing, just amazing! It's a shame it doesn't have S-Pen support. I'll probably still get one, but wow it's so thin and light. Samsung did well!

Wish the regular S10 had better battery life, the S10e is awesome but I feel like the screen is just a little too small!!

  • Damn that amazon sale on the s10e :-(

  • +1

I think if you go instore you can get the education discount just by showing student id. And then you might be able to stack this with their bonus $200 on any trade in device. Theoretically that means you could grab an s10e for under 600 which is a terrific bargain. You can see eligible devices and their values here samsung.com/au/tradeup. This is all hypothetical tho, I haven't tried this and dont know of anyone who has.

    • Is there an option to use Trade up on the online stores?

    • I checked the link you provided that S8 is on the list. However, I bought S8 from eaby and it is not AU stock. Can I trade up?

      • I think your phone falls under this

You may be eligible to trade-in your phone. You can trade in any device you want as long as it’s part of the eligible trade-in list. For more information, please visit our Samsung Trade-Up website https://www.samsung.com/au/tradeup/

    • If anyone tries tomorrow, can you please confirm if you can get the same price from one of the Samsung kiosks with your student ID :)

      • Samsung's education discount is $300 off the S10E, $250 off S10 and otherwise 15% off most other devices. Those are all off RRP.

        • So they won't match the education store pricing in store? Even if you have an account?

        • no its $876.85 for s10, i just used my old alumni email account. if ur getting $250 off s10 ur getting ripped, return it asap.

          • @Gerry H: The prices I quoted are what you get when you purchase at a B&M Samsung store.

    • Why do you 'think' this?

I asked on samsung online chat and they said online only.

      • I saw a comment on a previous education store deal that you can get an education discount instore by showing student id. However this promotion might be online only as you say, I was just theorizing.

    • Checked with store policy last time, they probably won't allow it.

      • Could you expand a bit more on what happened and their policy?

    • I tried it, the code you get on trade-in can only be used on samsung's "normal" page, won't apply in the education store, probably won't work in EPP either

      • You don't have to trade in online, you can trade in instore and that way you dont have to generate a code or anything. Plus they accept more devices instore then they do by mail in trade in, like the iphone 5s can only be traded in instore.

    • The trade-in value of $200 is well below market rates. You are better off selling your phone on gumtree or eBay.

      • It's $200 bonus, so if I traded in my iphone se 64GB I could get $260 total. Which is I'm pretty sure more than anyone on gumtree would pay for it.

  • -4

I know I can't get the EPP/Educational deal. So I know I will not get the best price. Why would I buy a Samsung S10 when I know other people paid less?
Some targeted deals just drive you to the competitor …

Saying that I could just pretend to be a Westpac customer :-)

    • +1

m8 u'll get far in life with that attitude

    • +2

Oh no … negative votes … don't understand me wrong: It is a great deal! I voted it up.
But as I do not have access to the EPP or educational store I would not touch the phone at a higher price. I know that nearly everyone gets the price.
I would need to hand in my Ozbargain badge when I pay more than this for it.

      • +4

u'll always get negged for saying anything negative in this place. dont take it the wrong way. i got negged to death for dissing isheep fanatics. people here have oversensitive vagenes.

      • There are people here who lose their hair if you have an opinion which doesn't align with theirs. Good on you for having an opinion. No need to worry about them.

    • -1

$1500+ for a phone is too overpriced and expensive for my blood. The like brigade negged by comments above. If you ask JV he will say negs are more valuable and I agree with him.

      • No one if forcing you to buy the 1TB version. Everyone seems to be commenting for s10e/s10 128GB @ $800-900 which are quite cheap compared to any other current flagship phone.

    • probably won't take too long to online register for a westpack everyday account :p

  • -2

Would JB price match if I show that I'm eligible for student deal?

    • +4

      lol, thats cute

    • Would jb match if i said i was vegan and a member of the church of scientology

  • is the s10 worth the ~$100 more? i just feel the s10e is a wallmart bargain variety of s10.

    • +3

I hate the rounded screen on S10 and S10+. I prefer a smaller phone also. Only misses out on optical zoom really.

      • Curve screen, additional telephoto camera, and in screen fingerprint sensor. I'd say it's worth the extra $100 but went for the S10e as I prefer the flat screen and compact form.

        • Curves screen is a negative though. I'm screen fingerprint is not a positive yet, it's significantly slower and less reliable.

  • +1

none of these are snapdragon 855 are they?

    • +1

unfortunately the snapdragon variant isnt available in australia. it's stupid, i know. you might be able to get a grey import online but you sacrifice the 2 year samsung warranty and risk not being able to use samsung pay properly

      • Wait I had forgotten that Google Pay still works fine here on a grey import.

  • How long until this deal expires?

    • OP wrote June 30.

  • Are only the s10s available? What about Note8 or s9+?

    • they do 35% off for note9
offer ends at 20 may 2019

      note9 - 128gb - 974.35
      note9 - 512gb - 1,169.35

      i couldn't find s9 tho

      • Is the A30 or any of the A series in there? Thanks!

        • The only one from the A series in the Westpac Offers Store is A30 :)

          Galaxy A30
          SM-A305YZKNXSA
32GB Black & White colours available
          $322.15 Save $57.00 (Was $379.00)

          • @kaebomb: Thank you! That's pretty good for a decent phone!! Similar in spec to S8+

  • No Insurance on 1TB. That sucks

  • -1

Is the boost 365 day $300 240gb plan still the best option with these outright phones?

    • yes, go for boost on 365 day plan.

up to you to choose which one.

    • -1

Catch connect is better at 50% off also 10% off catch GC at woolworths.

      • Wtf … Catch is not Telstra. Not comparable.

        • -1

Didn't say it was it's also alot cheaper then boost so a better deal. Wtf…..

          • @Stahh: Wtf. .. there are some good deals on this network in China too .. 60% off also 10% off at local China grocery store

      • Telstra aside, they are good value. I’ve had no issue on the Optus network

  • The price keeps dropping rapidly. At this rate, I'm gonna wait until they're 50% off ;p

    • it was 50% off for telstra employees a while ago lol, but i doubt samsung will make their flagship that cheap for everyone else

      • Wasn't just Telstra.

Was a great deal however, I'm loving my S10+ 512gb from that deal

  • +3

A very good deal. Unfortunately, I cannot buy one as I own one.

  • Does Australia model support dual sim?

    • +1

      you need this with:
      a) dual sim
      b) snapdragon 855

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-S10-G9730-Dual-8G…

      wait for 10% ebay sale.

      • Thanks for the great find.
Any idea how is this store?

      • By the way, will there be an additional 10% tax for this item?

        • yes always 10% now .. over $1000, then GST doesn't get collected by seller .. but by Aussie customs.

under $1000, then ebay collects the 10% GST for the seller to pay the ATO.

only chance, is if the ebay seller has an 'australian warehouse' LOL .. but I think this has dried up now.

          • @matt-ozb: So basically the eBay 10% off will only compensate the custom tax …?
            So sad deal breaker :(

How do you pay to custom in the case item above 1000?

    • All S10+ support dual sim.

Only S10 512GB support dual sim.

Told by staff at Samsung shop. Bought a S10+ and can confirm it is dual sim.

      • so even saying on their site the s10+ is single sim, but they are actually dual sim?

        • Galaxy S10+ (Single SIM)
          SM-G975FZKAXSA

Not all S10+ are dual sims

        • The only dual SIM S10+ phones are the 1tb and 512gb ones. These are the Ceramic Black and White colours. Prism colours are single SIM only if you look at the Aussie Samsung site.

        • +1

I think netbies missed the word "NOT" in front of "All S10+ support dual sim" because he contradicts himself in the second sentence. Makes a big difference lol

    • Yes if you buy directly from Samsung AU, the S10 512Gb, S10+ 512GB & S10+ 1TB has dual sim.

If you get it from the carriers it will only be single sim, even if you get the S10+ 512Gb.

  • +2

I have just gotten Snapdragon 855 S10+ from other other deal and paid $964. I would still choose the Snapdragon over this imho

    • can you please share where did you get that deal? thanks

    • can you please share where did you get that deal? thanks

    • +1

Grey import though. Bit risky on a $1000 phone.

24-month local Samsung warranty for this deal.

      • +1

Yeah risky without the 2yr local warranty plus you may not be able to fully utilise Samsung Pay here.

        • Google Pay work fine. Never been to a Aussie store that only take MST payments so its not a concern for me. if Vo-LTE works, ill be glad
