  • this is like ebay, buy w/o auction

    • Yeah, Quicksales used to be Oztion. Much safer system (lots of verification) than EBay but less popular.

      • Safer for WHOM, the sellers? LOL

        • +1

The buyers are safer. Take for example, the OP's page. The seller is phone, address, credit card, and photo ID verified. EBAY certainly doesn't do that.

        • In an odd kind of way it builds trust I guess. But it's not mandatory and it doesn't help you much if the item is a fake or they don't deliver (cough cough, "got lost in the post").

EDIT - I am NOT saying the OP is dishonest, the comments are general only

        • Take for example, the OP's page. The seller is phone, address, credit card, and photo ID verified.

          Yes, that is quite nice.

But do they have an ABN, and thus comply with THIS site's rules?

  • oztion and sold were merged to create quicksales it's now run by the carsales company much cheaper to sell with quicksales then ebay.

  • Sweet, my prepaid was running out soon too. Just a quick question, how are these actually delivered?

  • via email then mail as a back up all done within 24 hours of payment reciept, bank deposit only so all up it can take a few days.

    • +1

Thanks, now I just have to register, I hope they don't have any sort of HumancentiPad thing in their user agreement.

    • +3

Nothing to do with these guys, but just a word of warning bank deposits have no recourse. If the seller ignores you there is not much you can do. Can only bad mouth them unless you can convince the police to start a fraud investigation.

Banks will not reverse transactions, unlike other purchasing platforms (i.e. PayPal) or Credit Cards.

      • Precisely, which rings alarm bells when a seller (on any site) coerces buyers with a deal yet offers no other "safe" payment choice.

      • Yes. that is True re: Banks will not reverse transactions (if seller agree…they may still charge you a fee)

I'm curious as to where all these discount vouchers come from, (from a curiosity point of view but also from a cutting out the middle man point of view)

I see a few on ebay, what do they do, buy in bulk? or whats the deal.

  • +3

Guess they buy wholesale, when you have an epay machine you need to sell x amount to get % rebate ie: sell $2000 p/w you get 10% off, sometimes you need to sell that extra one to get to the next discount or rebate bracket ie: $1990 p/w may be 7% and $2000 may be 10% so even if you sell one more and give it away your still in front.

    • Ahhh thanks for the info backofthetruck, that makes sense :)

  • +2

These didn't fall off the back of a truck? ;) Did they?

  • +1

    Why Back Of The Truck?

The name helps show how cheap our products are. They certainly by no means are stolen or 'fallen of the back of a truck'.

    • +1

^ A sense of humour is absent in this one :P

  • you should post 22% off on the title. last time when hn got promotion 20% off, i have bought 2 prepaid. do u know when is the expired date on the voucher?

    • +1

exp is some 10 - 12 months away on them

    • exp is some 10 - 12 months away on them

  • But seriously people: tpg.com.au

    • +2

Errr, last time I checked, TPG doesn't offer recharge vouchers for Telstra do they? LOL

  • Are these vouchers valid for "Turbo Capped" plans? I had bought $100 vouchers 1 year ago for $30 and when I recharged, it did not give me the bonuses, merely as what it says.. $100 credit for calls and nothing else.

With capped plans, recharging $30 then will give me more than $100 in credit plus extra $$ bonus plus data.

When I called Optus to enquire about the $100 voucher not giving me the recharge, their response was "The voucher you bought is not valid for turbo capped plans"

    • -1

If your on Long expiry plan you get $250
If your n turbo cap plus you get unlimmited calls plus 3g data see: http://personal.optus.com.au/web/ocaportal.portal?_nfpb=true…
Optus also have the $2 day plan: $2 Days where you can Enjoy Unlimited calls, text and data for only $2 a day.

I guess there is no clear answer as to what you get as I dont know what prepaid offer your on!

      • LOL what do you mean by "I guess there is no clear answer as to what you get"?????

My question was "Are these vouchers VALID for "TURBO CAPPED" plans? It is a simple YES or NO.

Reason I am asking is because Optus did not deem these vouchers valid before for "Turbo Capped" plans.

If you do not know the answer, just a simple "I do not know" will suffice.

  • So how do these work with the Telstra 10gb 12Mnth data plan? I take it they add to the download limit but does it also extend the expiry time?

  • HMMMM - new seller, very hard to check feeback on Quicksales, and can't check previous sales (convenient, huh) but I cannot find if they never sold this kind of item before.

Bank Deposit only, no protection for buyers. No ABN on listings.

If this was on eBay, it'd be negged the hell off here. Yet it's OK because it's listed on an "Aussie" auction site?

MODS please explain - why is this?

    • Hmmm, well look at that in the Posting Guidelines…

These are the rules that will apply to eBay/Oztion postings on OzBargain

      Must Have ABN

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:posting_guidelines_on_ebay?s[]=ebay

      • Guidelines… Not written in stone. The lack of other payment options can be a worry but as mentioned above with the added verification it IMO (and mine only ATM) makes it safe. Why is it hard to check feedback? You just click the rating number next to the name. Not saying it's safe but it's safer than EBAY.

Backofthetruck, do you have an ABN?

EDIT: P.S. Have put it up for discussion with other mods.

        • Why is it hard to check feedback? You just click the rating number next to the name

OK… then tell me how to check if this seller has ANY feedback for selling Prepaid recharge vouchers. Especially in large quantities. In fact, in ANY quantities LOL

        • +1

We have an ABN and are willing to provide it to buyers who buy the item, this will be done of course before they pay.

        • +1

Buyer are a litle slow in leaving feedback as some of them are yet to use the vouchers I think you shold be also looking at all feedback and not just for vouchers.

        • I am not questioning your ethics, etc - and have absolutely no reason to.

It is simply that there are guidelines for posting here, to prevent this place being spammed senseless by every eBay and Oztion seller. Plus to prevent scams being promoted.

Anyway, good luck with your venture and sales.

    • From memory, this isnt backofthetrucks actual first post, I remember OP posting quicksale ads here for a phone and other stuff, all got removed because lack of ABN.

      • JLove, you are correct. Good memory. OP is a banned user.

OP is now banned, moved to discussion forum. You can contact OP via his contact link

  • As jmone asked. I wonder if you buy 3 x $50 telstra ones and used them get 10Gb 12months. Has anyone tried this ?

  • Looks dodgy as hell.

  • +1

Same here,I bought Recharge vouchers on Ebay. These where just $50 credit and no bonuses whatsoever.I later found out these are the vouchers that come with a new phones…. Ouch.. So not worth the $40 i paid, probably worth about $15 really, so be warned.

  • +1

Reply from seller Mod:Private Correspondence was same as the responses i got from ebay sellers… Hmmm, Elvis's "Suspicious minds" playing in my head…

    Question:
Hi, are these vouchers the ones provided with a new phone, these are $50 credit only and does not give you any Turbo bonuses.

    Answer:
    From: Mod:Private Correspondence
    To: jd
its a $50 vocher you need to be on the turbo prepaid offer with optus check with them b4 you top up

    Question:
Sorry but you didn't answer my question about these cards coming with a new phone.
Is there any mention of turbo on the back or the voucher card ?
Can you please post or email a photo of the front/back voucher.

Last time i bought one of these i only got the $50 credit and no bonuses whilst on the turbo plan, these cards are worth $10 - $15 to me really. please advise thanks

    • If your on Long expiry plan you get $250

Well I don't know about that whole Turbo bonus deal thing but I just got my pre paid recharged and it work fine. $50 credit for $39 and I don't have to recharge again til November plus I won 250 SMS credit (not sure how I am going to text that much in 14 days). So great deal all around for me.
