  • Battery life???

I get why mouse have built in lion batteries for weight reduction but keyboards should let use use AA batteries for longer life and instant swap to full power…

  • Rare to see a wireless mechanical keyboard. $69 is a bit high though…the intro price for their wired variant was $39

    • +2

yeh its rare cuz i think there isnt enough demand. I mean mouse going wireless eliminates the cable drag feel but a wireless mechanical keyboard has limited use because keyboard doesnt really move once you set it up and if people using for media purposes, they dont really need a mech keyboard and there are better solutions like the k830.

try moving a mech keyboard around for a while and your arms will be sore… lol

Plus, apparently battery life for wireless keyboards tends to be real short

        • Normal wireless keyboards from e.g. Logitech and Microsoft can last a year or two on AAAs with active use. Not sure why this keyboard can only do 20 days on standby.

          • @eug: It's due to the 100+ LEDs. I suspect if you turned them off every time you used it (not sure if you can switch off permanently), it would give similar battery life to any other wireless keyboard.

            • @Soothsayer: Surely the LEDs don't stay on when it goes to standby mode?

When using the keyboard wirelessly, the keyboard enters sleep mode if it does not detect any key presses for 1-2 minutes. Wake up the keyboard by pressing any key.

Yeah, it's like the only difference between a wired and wireless keyboard is you have to change the batteries.
I suppose it's only ideal if the keyboard is being moved around or is on top of a minimalist desk set up where the cable would otherwise be visible.
As above, if you're moving the keyboard around it's better to have a smaller media oriented one.

It's hard to get a wired mechanical keyboard for $69 normally, so I don't know if I agree that it's a bit high.

      • Every now and then you get a good deal on a wired mechanical keyboard. I recently got a Razer Blackwidow Tournament Stealth mech keyboard for $35 + delivery from Umart. But that was a clearance.

      • +1

Not really there are plenty outer there.
hell the other week kogan has on presale there TKL mechanical KB for $35

    • The built quality looks fine plus it's wireless maybe that's why…but in saying that I found they usually start with higher price for new products and then drop a fair bit after a while.

$69 isn't too bad for me, it's just the shipping that made me think again.

  • another deal with minimal detail like
    battery life
    type of batterys in it

    • yup. probably need to be vague to sell it.

      thanks for posting this deal

  • Not bad. It's rechargeable, so don't need to use batteries and can keep it plugged in if need be. My (wired) Kogan mechanical keyboard uses 200mA/5V, so 1W. Not sure how long battery life you could expect on wireless mode with backlighting enabled.

  • is it just me or the font on the key caps on their keyboards fugly as, they would have been better off using comic sans.
