50% OFF - FAREWELL SUMMER PROMOTION

Winter is coming and it’s time to say goodbye to our Spring Summer Specials. This week is our LAST CHANCE to enjoy these summer drinks/desserts before they are giving way to our winter warmers in the coming weeks.

Promotion includes CORNie Che, AVOCOCO, COCOffee and FLANtastic.

We will keep ONE best selling Summer Special for the Winter Menu. Please help us decide which one will stay 🤗

P/S: limited quantity made daily, so be quick!

This place is opposite Mamak (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/455340), it's yellow. He says it smells, strongly of durian.

We had the flan and it was very good, quite similar to one my jap grandma made. The avo x coconut smoothie is amazing! We're coming back another day for that. If the CORNie Che is what I think it is, it's a corn soup that's delicious (ask for coconut milk on top) however does indeed resemble mucus.

Interesting, they do caphe trung (egg coffee) and caphe cot dua (coconut milk/cream coffee). Surprised that more places haven't caught onto the bandwagon.

Still haven't seen anywhere do caphe muoi (salted coffee, from Hue). That's probably my favourite!

    • Have you tried Footscray/Richmond?

Which do you recommend the most? :)

I live in Richmond, so been to more places in Richmond that Footscray. But I also tend to stick to my favourites, so can’t say I have tried them all, no!

From memory, Co Thu Quan (which is in both Richmond and Footscray) does the coconut coffee. I don’t recall seeing the egg coffee anywhere (but I may have just forgotten!).

Of coffee/desserts at Che? Well, I haven’t been there yet. But both egg coffee and coconut coffee are delicious! Egg coffee is thick and rich, almost like a dessert (although level of sweetness can vary). The coconut coffee is like an awesome frappucino - exactly as you would imagine! :)

The best egg coffee I’ve had was a heavenly experience, but I’d say I probably prefer caphe cot dua in general. It’s more consistently great! (The salted coffee in Hue may even be my favourite though! Not sure!)

In terms of other things on the menu, well I grew up eating my family’s che bap (the corn sweet you mentioned), so that’s what I like! Three colour drink is always great, and I love durian, so the mixed durian one is awesome if you’re into it! :)

It’s popular to mix flan into these Vietnamese desserts, so that flan with the lot thing is probably nice!

Unfortunately they don’t have my absolute personal favourite - sua chua nep cam (fermented black sticky rice with yoghurt). If you ever get the chance, you should try it! It’s like the Vietnamese version of a rice pudding, using a fermented sticky rice! It’s awesome! :)

  • I like your jazz-hands emoji

  • I'm from Sydney but visited this shop during our holiday. Really enjoyed the desserts, can definitely recommend it!

  • We love going to Che! We stop by whenever we go to the city.
