  • Anyone know how long these can sit before they lose charge and won't be able to jumpstart a car?

Would be good to keep on hand, but I'm forgetful and have a feeling when I need it it'll be flat lol.

It works fine after 3 months. Haven’t tried it further.

    • Also 3 months here. But charge level barely dropped, so assuming a linear self-discharge I'd guess this could easily go a couple years. That said I had it stored mostly in a cool place, not a hot car.

      • Yeah I was thinking this would make sense to just leave in the car.

I do have power in the glove box though and could just leave it constantly on charge.

        • Constant full charge could actually degrade the battery's max capacity faster. I suspect a single yearly charge is plenty for emergencies - maybe a calendar entry or time it with pink slip?

  • This or noco genius boost (gb40)?

    • This. Same quality it's just Noco are more expensive.

Bought one last sale. Was expecting some cheaply built item designed to relieve me of my cash. It arrived and I was seriously impressed by the build quality from the plastic moulding to how the cables are attached to the alligator clips. Zero flex when twisted. Really solid. Even the bag is sewn up well. No idea how well it works yet but going by everything else it seems like a quality product at a very reasonable price

    • +1

Yeah I was impressed with the build quality as well. Very nice product

  • What sort of battery does this have?

    • +1

      Li-Po

      • Is there a reference for that?

I'd be hoping it's LiFePO4 if it's being left in a hot car in summer…

  • +1

This is really good. Very handy to top up my phone with fast charging support and it starts my 4.0l Falcon swiftly while car battery is disconnected.

  • +2

Bought one, I'm sure theres cheaper ones on eBay but I'm pleased to have the reviews of other ozbargainers confirming the quality, last thing you want is a 68,800mah $30 fake ebay special that explodes in the boot of you car

  • Can I take this on the plane?

    • +14

You might need a bigger one to start a plane.

      • Planes don't start with batteries.

        • +2

          Depends on the plane…

    • +1

Yes, as long as you put it in your carry on bag. Most airlines allow power banks up to 100 watt hours, this one is rated at 73.

      • Thanks!

  • Ignore me, didn't see the coupon code…

Can this jump start a 3.0L turbo Diesel?

    • same Q pls guys!?!

Specs suggest it, but anyone with experience on a big diesel engine?

    • Easily. 1500amps and 19800mah. Would most likely even start a 6.5t pantech

  • How do these differ to the 20,000 mah capacity power banks (i.e https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/anker-powercore-20100mah-white-…). Are they same?

    • they don't jump start cars which is the primary purpose of this

      • The front fell off

    • You have linked a powerbank. This is primarily a jump starter?

  • I have a LASER branded one, from The Good Guys when they had that voucher deal, so basically got it for $50 at the time.

It jump started my partners fathers dual battery Diesel Toyota Prado yesterday.
the 2nd battery hasn't been hooked up to be switched to the main battery so need cables to jump the main battery
so I decided to test mine to see how it went and its a couple? of years old now as well. Started the Prado no worries at all..

it hadn't been charged in several months and had been used to jump my partners Mazda as the kids had played with the internal lights. So was very happy it started the Prado.

  • Its back again. link updated :-)

    Thanks. Got one this time.

  • Can I leave this in car during summer day?

Unfortunately the code FJVB8KCE seems to have expired. Could someone please confirm if it works for them? Thanks.

    • Can also confirm code seems to be expired. Anyone else able to confirm?

Been eyeing this for a while, should’ve bought it the time it was posted 😞

  • I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but does anyone know if this will work to charge a Dell Inspiron laptop (7579)?

I'm not quite sure how to work it out and really don't want to stuff it up.

    Thanks!
