At this price I would rather get the LG Optimus One for $179, better specs and newer model.
How about Optus' Garmin Asus A50 - $199. Car Mounting Kit… but Android 2.2.
LG Optimus One is quite nice for that price.. but not sure how to unlock with Virgin - Recharge for $80 or more?Is the Garmin Asus A50 locked to Optus?
Virgin uses Optus network, so most phones locked to virgin also work with Optus sim, and vice-versa.
No most virgin phones dont work on Optus. However all Optus locked phones work on Virgin.
Telstra unlocking fee is $100 for a 3G handset, and that is regardless of how much credit has been recharged.
Just a FYI. Save your money! The phone's resolution really does suck. My sister bought one and in comparison with my Legend, the screen absolutely stinks. (I know, different screens) but still…
Would this be a good entry phone to Andriod for someone who needs to be on Telstra? (rural area) Want to try out Andriod before committing to a long contract on iPhone 5 or a higher class Andriod phone. I know a $200 phone doesn't show off Andriod to it's full potential but just want to get a feel for the OS.
If you wanna try android on nextg try Telstra smart touch. Currently $59 at bigw if you buy $40 worth of recharge voucher with it ($99 total).
The new Telstra HTC Wildfire S will be released to the Australian public tomorrow so I would hold out until then.
Pricing is still unknown though however my guess would be that it will be the same (RRP) price as the original wildfire ($349).
funny how they omitted the two most important info cpu speed and ram
My friend intends to sell me an unlocked 98% new HTC Wildfire to me for half the price ($99). He just bought it 1 month ago. Does it worth?
Still to expensive for that screen resolution. And i think it was $179 at BigW a few weeks ago.
