Cool - do they work with the brita jugs?
In the target link the only person who left a review said:
They fit perfectly in my brita jug. Does what it should do!
But in the Cons section they mentioned:
does not mention if it removes calcium, very basic writing on box/no instructions
Since it's just $10 difference between the discounted Woolies one and the Kmart/Target varieties I would stick to the Brita pack from Woolies for now.
agree!
Awesome. Will give these ago. Can afford to change these more frequently. Here's to cleaner water at the expense of more landfill…
it would be good if they had a swap/deposit scheme or collection point for used filters
Or even if we could open up the filter, throw out the carbon and then put the plastic into the recycling. But doubt the plastic has any symbol on it
break it open, through the carbon into the compost bin/garden and the plastic into normal recycling
Thanks op, I need a new pack! You can really taste the difference with these filters.
Proprietary filters are never a bargain.
Spend a little more up front to get a filter that takes standard cartridges.what's a standard cartridge?
Brita Maxtra filters ;)
Standard is 250mm cylinder, like this:

lasts a few years, depending on use.
Whole system is $99:

looks good thanks
The best part is removing that metallic taste.
I bought the same filter for $5.xx each on Ebay. I used to buy them from Groupon or deals on Ozbargain but not anymore.
For those of you with Costco memberships you can get 8 for $49 until 12 May because of the Ipswich opening special. Don't know if it's only at Ipswich. Normally they have that written on the coupon. It doesn't for this one.

Someone on Ozbargain got me on to these generic filters from K-Mart and Target
They seem to do the job at $5/filter
