  • It is a great app. I used it to record the distance when I bike to work everyday. Nice finding.

  • Didnt it come free with the iPhone?
Pretty sure I got this app already, but never downloaded it.

That is a different app that works with the Nike shoe sensor. This one uses the GPS on the phone. That said, you need to have a line of sight to get a GPS signal for it to work. So you would probably need an armband to hold your phone or something similar.

      • thanks for clarifying…. downloading now :).

Not quite correct there, 'GPS' in Iphones and Ipads will primarily work off a triangulation of cell towers and Known Wifi hotspot IP addresses, and the satellite GPS will kick in if there is no (or little) cellular coverage.

My Ipad works inside all buildings and even knows approx where I am when on the underground rail network, and could only do this by using other technology.

See here for more info, they explain it all very well, its a 'must read' if you are into these things….

        • It used GPS first it use the cellular coverage if there is no gps signal Due to cellular data being alot more inaccurate making the position be up too 1000m off track

        • Are the arm bands available for the iPhads yet ;)

Or do you have to strap em on like a Teletubbie? XD

        • Actually the iPhone will use cell tower triangulation when first activated and then ALWAYS try to narrow down the accuracy using GPS. It will only resort back to the inaccurate art of triangulation if there is no GPS signal.

  • I wonder whether it would work for my iPod Touch if i have a bluetooth GPS supporting the GPS signal.

  • Was $2.49 AUD ($1.99 US)

  • Thanks for the post….should I download this app or stick with RunKeeper Pro?

    • I've downloaded it and prefer Runkeeper Pro to be honest (but then again I'm used to Runkeeper). But as its free, download it and give it a go. You may think differently.

      • Good idea, will do! Cheers.

  • I'll try this and see how it compares to runkeeper pro.

    • What's the verdict?

  • -3

    deal needs more android

i might give this a go in parallel with runkeeper for a while and see how it goes.

i've got almost 50 activities in runkeeper but am always happy to try something else when its free!

  • looks similar to runkeeper, which is free and works extremely well. time, distance, google maps, calories etc

very handy if you regularly run and like to keep record
