Noticed on Dans website that cans of pacific ale have been marked down to $35. Had a couple of cases in Phillip ACT. You can check on the website which store has stock. B/B date October 2019. Bloke said they were running out the stock of cans.

If Oct 2019 is “approaching best before date” I’m in trouble!!
I think you'll find that the dates will be different in each store…
At our local one, the best befores are often the same month, so I stay away…
Does it taste good?
@Yaren24: Old beer doesn't taste good.
@jv: LOL. Yeah beer instantly tastes bad one minute after midnight on the Best before date. Petals, companies are overly conservative on BBDs on all foods.
Yeah beer instantly tastes bad one minute after midnight on the Best before date.
or gradually tastes worse and worse at it approaches the 'best before' date. It's probably been brewed a year ago…
@droctagon: dans require brewers to put a minimum 12 month BBD, you will find a lot of pale ales should be drank well before that
as hops lose flavour over time, it wont go "bad", but it wont taste the same as if it were fresh.@doxxie: Incorrect. Balter is 9 months as one example.
@droctagon: Beer and soft drinks flavour considerably changes well before their BBD. how much it changes tends to differ massively between brands and products but it can be significant.
@droctagon: @droctagon breweries are generally NOT conservative with BBDs. With beer, fresh is most certainly best.
Cheers, got one!
Me too! Cheers OP
Picked up tonight. Exp.19/05/19 :(
Thank you!
Needed a case for this weekend and Wild Yak is delicious. Cheeers OP.
Website says Thornleigh NSW has stock, but when I add to cart it says unavailable for pick-up at that store. Oh well. Thirsty.
Getting the same the result for 3x QLD stores (Mango Hill, Kippa-Ring, Hamilton) - all show stock but when you try to check out it's unavailable. Oh well. :(
If you don't wanna commit to a full carton, Dan's lists 6-packs for $10.
And pay an extra $1.25? NO SIR.
thank did a store pickup….
Expiry?
Mine is Oct 2019.
Yeah trying to compare to see if you were lucky
@blighst: Mine was also Oct 19.
In stock at Berwick 3806
None that I can find SOR Perth.
Got two 6 packs instead for $20. Still a bargain!South Freo says in-store
Just ordered 3x 6 packs for $30 from Bicton.
Just got a call saying they're out of stock. Was offered refund or exchange to similar product
Would be interested to see what they would exchange to!
I got offered a case of the stubbies or a refund. Took the stubbies.
@Malarkey: lll probably take the stubbies. They're $2 more expensive but less ML
@jsediv: My store just straight up offered me stubbies, no price adjustment. Still a great price for stubbies.
@Malarkey: Thats fair! I'll go in after work and suss it out
Don’t forget cashback extra $1.05 🤟
iFailed :(
Ordered and got invoiced but then got the call sorry no stock system was wrong .
Ordered two cases, delivered as couldn’t find stock near me in Perth (SOR).
Also available on Dan’s eBay store for same price and includes delivery for eBay Plus members and those who don’t have stock at their local. Just beware they no longer use AusPost for deliveries - now using some company called Endeavour who with my last 3 deliveries have taken over a week to metro Melb.
PLACE for additional 3% off
Thanks. Ordered for free delivery with plus.
Oh wow - thanks! Got 2 :-)
Anybody tried this before? How's it taste?
Like beer.
YMMV.
I like it - it's a pretty standard APA. Lots of people who don't usually like beer like the fruitiness of wild yak.
If you've ever had Stone & Wood Pacific Ale, this tastes quite similar. It's a light ale with a fruity aroma.
My local didn't have any but eased the pain with a sneaky 4 pack of 440mL 4.5% Adnams Ghost Ship Pale Ale for $10.
Does it taste good or tastes the same as all premix drinks
It's fake craft beer owned by a corporate giant. Better than a lager at least…
If you get lucky it might taste of lobster
I'm torn between this and the Tesla…
Drink a case of this, then put down a deposit on the Tesla while you're feeling happy.
Regret both tomorrow
Was in stock at QV, Melbourne, but no longer; their system was wrong wrt stock and they ended up giving me a mix of cans and stubbies at the same price.
Stock was also best before Oct 19 as well.
Reason for discount is not that they're near expiry, but because they will no longer be stocking Wild Yak cans.
Price $35
WW GC at 5% discount: -$1.75
CR: -$1.05
Total: $32.2 (assuming that CR pays out on Dan's for GC purchases still, IIRC they don't for Woolworths now).Cheers OP! Just picked up a case myself from the Melbourne CBD store. BBD is Oct 2019. Going to enjoy this along with my chop shop pale ale
QV? I think you and I got the last two, just collected mine ten minutes ago and they're now out of stock.
Yeah I collected mine from QV around 2:50-ish. They took a while to get my order since they had to put the cans into an empty Asahi box.
Haha, yeah, mine was about 3.15, they put mine in to a Hawthorn Brewing box, and they ran out of cans part way and topped up with stubbies :D
@ely: So you have a mix of cans and bottles? Looks like you missed out on a couple hundred mLs of beer :D
@Kappaccino: Oh no, you're right! Seven bottles, 30ml difference each 210ml total, that's more than half a can I've missed out on :( Oh well, better have a drink to console myself…
Save $1.05 with Cashrewards
Another $1.75 with WISH gift cards
Makes it $1.34 a tinny. Nice deal OP!Is this the stuff people are referring to when it is said, "it tastes like yak's piss"?
What does yak's piss taste like?
Tastes like Wild Yak Pacific Ale.
I'd say they are referring to fat yak, which tastes like cats piss.
It's all, so confusing.
Nothing in SA even some showing in stock, when you check out nil available for pick up.
RE Dan's, if you can't find in store, try delivery (didn't finalise to test but seemed available) - if you buy 2 cases with the wish cards, you've basically offset your shipping cost.
Below point is now moot:
Boozebud dropped their prices but looks like Yak cans are now out of stock. Just bought one with Groupon code and cashback, have been charged, waiting on confirmation of order.Stack Groupon ($5 for $30 credit or $10 for $50 - new customers only)
10% off with code SALE, 17% back from shopback through the appBonus points: Grab 3 cases @ 10% off (boozebud promo, no voucher needed)
Shop through cashback app (7 / 7.5% back)
Add ~$7 for shipping.Tried modified e-mail, no problems there. Added address, voucher removed. Might be tightening their 'new customer' policy. Updated to Parcel Locker, order went in. Awaiting confirmation.
Apparently Dan's don't actually deliver to Parcel Locker as you need to be 18+ to drink alcohol and they must site your ID.
I only found out when I called DM for an update on delivery.
I don't write the rules, just sharing as it caused me great inconvenience.
Good to know. The whole someone being in attendance to receive delivery is a bit hit and miss, generally they just leave it at the front door. I think some places take the purchase via credit card as being confirmation of age.
Re my previous comment, it was referring to boozebud and parcel lockers (I checked prior to ordering and apparently they do deliver to them). My order was delayed but looks like it has arrived this morning awaiting pickup, so no problems there it seems (aside from BB's average service).
Did it go through?
Anyone have any Dan Murphy Tricks to pickup from your local store but pricing from another Dan Murphy store that has it listed cheaper?
I checked prices and was ready to buy changed location in the cart and it jumped up $15.00. Delivery is $6 but again picks your local store.
Thanks OP. Had a $40 gift voucher to use. Perfect.
Thanks OP! Scored a case in SA. Best Before is 19th of May, but a $35 carton is a $35 carton 😁
That it is!! No excuse for not finishing it off before the 19th👍🏻👍🏻
True 😂
What's wrong with a BBD of 19th May? That's over two weeks away!! 🤔😜😂
Thanks got a case from Oakleigh South
Ordered 3 packs which still is a good deal, dan's rang me half hour later and said they have none left and they had a stock error on their system. Offered to refund or substitute. So I ask what they could substitute in, firstly he said coopers, which I hate so I declined, asked what else and his next suggestion was balter XPA. Agreed to that because it is amazing thinking I would get $30 worth of XPA… nope. Get there and he has subbed 18 cans of XPA in for $30. Absolute win of the day.
Tl:dr Were OOS so got 18 cans of Balter XPA for $30 cheerin
Winning
I subbed mine for the stubbies and was happy. Would have been ecstatic with balter!
He said they didn't have any of either which I why I think he suggested the balter. Still not complaining lol
I got the call today saying no stock. The alternative offered was ‘Hahn Lite’…. I told em’ they’re dreaming, took the refund.
I would 100% have taken the refund too, who would want to drink Hahn lite
Ordered via eBay a few days ago. Received a text just now stating they're waiting for more stock and should be an extra 4 - 8 business days
Ordered via ebay. Have not even received a text or email about a delay. Just sitting as paid on the account.
Hmm - well might be a delay / wait for us but might get a fresher batch I guess
Thinking this is happening prior to FY2018 ending. I got me a case of Crown Lager Summer for 35$ as well.
My eBay order (2 slabs) was just cancelled after requesting tracking.
Cheap bastards won't send it :-(My eBay order hasn't been cancelled yet…hoping the fulfil it when more stock is in
Good luck. I need a beer :-)
