Own this, great bar at a great price.

    • Can you control this with your TV remote ? Or do you have to use separate remote

      • +3

It does support HDMI/ARC, so as long as your TV also supports HDMI/ARC and you connect it correctly (via HDMI cable to HDMI/ARC input on TV), then yes you can control it with the TV remote.

        • how does that work if you have multiple HDMI inputs? eg foxtel, xbox, htpc, etc? can i connect all the inputs to my tv and still have the audio through hdmi arc?

          • @fantacular: Yes I have Vodafone TV and Xbox connected to the other HDMI ports, the audio output is via the soundbar.

NB: have the soundbar setup as HDMI/ARC

          • @fantacular: Yes as per G77'c comment. You have to also make sure you enable HDMI-CEC on the TV and Soundbar (this the function that allows tv and sounbar to be controlled by same remote as part of the HDMI/ARC setup)

Is Price beat at officeworks an option?

    • +3

I can’t see any reason not except, you will miss 1% cashback
      Amazon $184 - 6% cashback VS officeworks pricebeat $184 -5%

      • The shipping wait time is a buzzkiller!
Anyways, can't find any stock nearby so will have to wait.

  • Can they pricebeat via online or just instore?

    • Have done it over the phone before too.

    • Not online but over the phone is possible.

  • I have one of these in my lounge room and I love it,.. so very very tempted to jump on this deal for the bedroom tv.

  • Thanks OP, got one! Now I need to look for a subwoofer to match. Any recommendations?

Great soundbar, bought one on the last deal.
Unfortunately, the ARC drops out at times when I turn my Hisence TV on via the youtube button on the control. No idea if it's a fault of the unit or the TV.
Have to power cycle everything and turn the TV on via power button for everything to go good again.

    • I got the same problem with my Samsung…in the end i disconnected it… sick of powercycling. Might be the soundbar problem

    • I think it's a problem with the TV. I've got the Hisense 65N7 and the ARC drops out all the time with my AV receiver. Sometimes I can get it working swapping the sound to TV speakers and back through the TV's menu.

I nearly bought this yesterday for $250 but decided I didn't really need it… I couldn't talk myself out of it today though.

    • it's on binglee at everyday price of $199. The ATS-1080 is the same model as this…

      • Yep, bought ATS-1080 from Binglee for $160 when they had 20% off sale

    Great Soundbar, which I own.

Decent price but not a bargain considering it was $25 cheaper 2 weeks ago

New OzBargain rule: Every item that has been cheaper at some point in the past is now no longer a bargain

      • +2

You shouldn't have said "looks to be cheapest price on record for this soundbar" in the description.

    • With cash back price is $172.96, then it’s $13.94 cheaper 2 weeks ago.
      Which is close enough IMO.
Also the price in your link is for C&C (+$10 Delivered). This deal’s price is Delivered.

I have this. Great piece of hardware. Didn't honestly expect such clarity from this for that price.

  • Great soundbar, only annoyance is that the remote interrupts playback on the Netflix app with my Hisense 55" P7 on volume change

Has anyone used this or another sound bar with a PC? Am I better off with a 2.0 or 2.1 set up? I use headphones for gaming it would be for videos and music. I have two 27” displays so I have a large desk…

  • Thanks OP - got one.

  • Bought Ty!

Already got one of these. Great value for money. Can anyone recommend a cheap soundbar with Dolby Atmos?

    • I was going to ask same thing.

      • I'm looking at the Sony HTX9000F. Saw the reviews online. Looks decent and doesn't break the bank.

    What's the difference between YAS108 and YAS108B?

  • Has anyone paired this with a sub? Or is it possible? How are the lows/bass from the soundbar, only thing stopping me!

    • The 108 has a bass extension option and is fairly decent in a small room. I have mine paired with a Jamo sub (pair easily by connecting sub to the unit via a RCA mono cable), which has elevated it to another level. Plus clear voice is an amazing feature

  • Got one from OW Vermont South for $174.80 with price beat. 2 more in stock.

    • Could see one at OW Preston as well.

  • OOS at that price already?

  • Bought this a while back for a similar price from Good Guys. Great soundbar for the price. I'm rocking a 10 year old Sony TV that doesn't support HDMI control, so I'm running this via optical out with the included cable (surprised that it came with one). Huge improvement over the inbuilt rubbish speakers on the TV. I usually control it with the Android app, although the little remote isn't bad. Annoying that I can't see the settings on screen because of my old TV, but the app works well so no real biggie. Was worth the $ spent.

  • I bought the 207 recently and I'm seriously impressed with it. There are some annoying issues with hisense TV's, but it takes two seconds to fix them.
I had some lipsync issues too when streaming from a Roku box. The solution was to set audio to "raw" and let the soundbar process the Dolby signal, rather than letting the TV process it a second time.

    • Hi there I'm having the same issue. How do I set audio to raw? And do I set it through tv settings or through the Roku telstra tv? Cheers

  • Great product for the price range. The YAS-106 (identical physically to YAS-107/108) held me off for a few years from buying a set of bookshelf speaker’s for the bedroom.
(Soundbar was purchased due to Yamaha audio reputation & low-cost for a powerful active 3-way driver system)

Upgraded to bookshelf’s now (was bound to happen eventually) but still have the YAS-106 in another room as I still think it sounds good (using it as a wireless speaker with the auto-on/off Bluetooth feature so it is completely hands-free).

    • Which bookshelf did you buy? Which option is better for small tv lounge? Bookshelf speaker or soundbar to be mainly used for tv / movies.

      • +1

Many would say never buy soundbar, they may be right, but I personally think if you are going to be using for movies / music in a lounge a decent soundbar is good enough.
If you are quite fussy with audio quality, and are searching for a particular sound, then conventional speakers provide many more options with sound, for you to research and shop for.
The conventional speaker market has been around for much longer so you are more likely to find exactly what you are looking for.

The speakers I choose will likely be different from what you prefer.
As a starting point I suggest doing some research online (depending on your budget & speaker type).
Then finding a store which has them in-stock, listening to them, then using them as a reference to compare to other speakers (online or in person).

Then again like most people you may be quite happy with a soundbar.
