I bought one on a previous promotion a month ago. Big improvement on the mini in terms of sound quality and volume, although the bass is a bit lacking. Well worth the money though and sounds good in our large open kitchen/living room area.
It has gesture controls for the volume and previous/next track (you move your finger in circles or swipe just above it) which is a bit hit and miss, so it's usually quicker just to shout at Google. It also has Bluetooth which I haven't bothered with, as I just use Google to play music through Spotify.
Other than that works exactly the same as any Google Home device.
My son really wants a google home mini. I like that this one has the clock on the front, does it have all the same functions as a google home ?
Google home mini is good and cheap, but if he likes music…
I believe it does have all the same functions, don't quote me though
Generally has the same functions from what I've read. However software improvements tend to come much later in the third party speakers, depends if that matters to you https://www.androidpolice.com/2018/12/03/beware-when-buying-…
What sort of software improvements could that clock benefit from?
@muncan: Probably the biggest gripe I have on my third party speaker (I have Link 20) is the lack of equaliser for treble/bass that is available for Google home. Would think this may apply here too.
@Jonty766: My google mini is stuck on ‘tinny’
Google Home Mini is $6 soo.. https://thotify.me/googlehome
hmmm, good point
Wait. What?
Me and several my mates bought over 10 using this. Can vouch for it
if you sign up with student account for 5.99 then 'upgrade' to a premium account for 0.01, Spotify will send you a mini
@dddddog: Yeah but this is way easier
@InternetExplorer: Hmmm.. how does this work? ?
@dddddog: You receive a code to order on Google Store. Its instant
@InternetExplorer: Okay, I just did. I've a few emails but where is the code?
@dddddog: Look for the link on Purchased goods section
@InternetExplorer: what 'purchased goods' section? i have clicked through and paid via paypal, so I didn't register on the website.
there was an 'order ID' from Shoppy which I put into the Google Australia store when I had a google home mini in my cart, but it doesn't work. I can't see any code on any of the emails Shoppy has sent me. Can you please explain?
@dddddog: Haven't you received an email with the header "Shoppy - Purchase details of product Google Home Mini 100% Off Code" ?
@InternetExplorer: Is that link suppose to auto apply the code? Doing it on a phone and no discount code has applied.
@tomsco: Yeah it doesn't apply it automatically sometimes. In that case you can copy and paste the code. You can find the code in the url after promoCode= part
@InternetExplorer: I have received an email with invoice details.
I don't believe I have received any code- nothing works from the email.without revealing anything sensitive, can you give me an example of how the code might look like? is it very long or just 5 or 10 characters?
I believe this might be a scam
@dddddog: Looks like your payment didn't went through. You should have received 3 emails if everything went right
@InternetExplorer: received 4 emails. 3 from shoppy, 1 receipt email from paypal.
none of them have a promoCode= or mention purchased goods etc.@InternetExplorer: your email looks completely different to mine mate. wth
I'll definiitely be registering with Discord and contacting this guy. what a pain in the …
I believe this might be a scam
When I posted the link here, there were 48 codes in stock and now its only 5 left. If its a scam there would be whole lot of people here bashing me
@InternetExplorer: exactly. I bought when it was about 46.
So as you've introduced us to this 'deal', please explain properly where the code is after being bought and how to redeem.
@tomsco: Same here. I tried applying the code and it doesn't apply any code. I've tried manually entering the code in the checkout screen and it states "Code already redeemed"…
@mrkrazy: This has happened to me once and I have bought 4 codes personally. You can send a message to the seller on Discord and he will replace the code within 24 hours.
@InternetExplorer: What's their Discord address? I'm only seeing a contact form on their page…
EDIT: Got it.
@InternetExplorer: I have a problem, I used two accounts to buy, the second purchased account was successfully redeemed, and the first one tells me the code has been redeemed.
@snakehuang: No stress, hit the guy up on Discord he will replace it
@InternetExplorer: Hey mate - if you don't mind me asking (I'm new to Discord), is it band1t OR Lee that I message?
@tomsco: Band1t
@mrkrazy: Same here, not a great loss if I've been scammed. Bought two codes. If something is too good to be true…..
Hi guys, I bought a code from the site, and it cam through, there is a link on the email, that you click on and when i added it to cart it automatically applied the code. I put the order through and its current status is pending to be processed. So its looking good so far.
@opti: Just got the guys on Discord to help and it seems to have worked. Thumbs up!

Is that legit, it looks so dodgy?
Excuse, what's generation of this google home mini? is the latest generation?
There is only 1 generation
What a name for a website.
Out of Stock!
My bank card hasn't worked since buying one this morning, getting worried.
Its not a Google home. It's a speaker with Google assistant bulti in. So there are a couple features missing but can't remember of top of my head
Looks like that's the wrong code. Please double-check and try again
When does the code go live?
10am
After so many minis people bought - demand for this would drop I guess. Although sound quality is much better and comes with a clock as well.
Be careful guys; the clock on the thumbnail pic is showing the wrong time. Could be faulty. No wonder it’s cheap smh
nah, this is showing the other version that displays date (30 Aug), not time.
mmm..Check it again Bellpop at 08:30 PM tonight .You never know.
I know these are two distinct price tiers, but how does his compare (sq wise) to a HomePod?
I was thinking of getting one for the bathroom but after I listened to it in store. I gave up.Sound quality is nowhere near Homepod, not even worth the money.
Ok. Thanks!
Cheers OP. Grabbed one .
This is back in stock.
I am not buying one because I need to save coin, but apparently for the dollars these have a hell of a speaker
