    • Java edition vs MS Store edition.

      Still a shit price.

      • been thinking of grabbing a Java copy for a while, never seen it on sale before. What's a non-shit price these days?

        • actually, this isn't a terrible price.
one of the cheapest i've seen from a quick couple searches.

it's $35 officially if you want to avoid the problems.

        • …apparently used to be half price and free for a period of time at some point because the creator got married or something…….

There's a difference between the Windows 10 Edition and the Java edition:

      Java: PC/Mac only
Windows 10 Edition or the "bedrock" version: Phones, iPads, Switches, Xbox, Windows 10 version of Minecraft (from the Microsoft store), etc

      • Huh? So I have a copy of all versions because I have the Win10 version? Bit confused..

Java edition is the real version of the game and windows 10 is a simplified version basically

If you had the Java edition before October 2018 you can get the Win10 Edition free

          • @jrjr: I think the differences now between the Bedrock and Java versions are very small. The main difference, I find, is the Java version is more 'moddable' and the bedrock version has better performance (admittedly not really an issue unless you're playing on a low-spec machine).

        • No, just the Windows 10 version is compatible with all those devices as they also run the "bedrock" version. The Java version only runs on PC/Mac and is only compatible with other Java clients.

          • @aidhan: Java edition runs on Linux also.

          • @aidhan: do you know if shaders (especially SEUS) work on the "bedrock" version?

  • I believe the code is no longer working.

Can we update the description, or can someone tell me if i'm wrong?

    • Sorry, the code is no longer working, the deal is dead.
