I got the last 55' Hisense Oled for $1209 delivered. They have the Hisense 65' Oled for $2200 with PCLICK code applied.

    • +2

      That's amazing… sigh

    • +1

It’s a bit to dim according to reviews. Give it a few more gens.

      • Yea, I'd be a bit hesitant to go hisense oled just yet. But the comparison standards are so high these days, probably still a nice tv.

    • How are you finding the OLED? Is the screen really that reflective in every day use? Is it too dark in HDR mode?

      • Won't get it till Friday. Current tv is an LG 55" Oled albeit 2015 model and 1080p. the Hisense has a LG panel in it and being a few gen newer surely will be better than my 2015 which has been fantastic. I want the 4K to make full use of the Xbox One X. My LG doesnt have HDR and whilst I except Oled isnt as bright… it will be fine where Im using it.

  • +1

God damnit.. just bought it. That's life for an ozbargain'er! 🙃
P.S. this TV is pretty damn awesome, it's not an OLEd but it's easily 1/3 of the price.
HDR mode works a treat with Apple TV 4k and game mode is useful too.

    • What's your picture setting?

      • +7

Bought the 75P7 recently and these are the settings I've settled on.

        Rest unchanged or off

          Thanks mate!

    • Huh? OZB life is following the deals here.
What OZB deal did you use?

  • +2

The videopro deal is slightly cheaper to Melbourne delivered

    $1,116.60 vs $1,111.40

  • +1

P7 is edge lit and 100Hz. Might want to make some quick adjustments to that title there.

      • +5

elite backlight is just a marketing term, the TV is def an edgelit.
200Hz is the refresh rate done in software but the native is 100Hz.

        • This TV actually has local dimming…

          • +2

@Mortgagetightass: Yes, edge lit local dimming which is why it gets bad reviews for its blacks.

            • +1

@dazweeja: Have the 75P7 and there's nothing wrong with the blacks after a bit of tweaking for mine. Only gripe is motion handling when watching FTA.

              • +1

@dins: There's a big difference between this TV and one that with true blacks though (via Full Array Local Dimming or OLED).

                • +1

@Ryballs: No doubt but for a whole lot more tho. For me I'm more than happy with it :)

      • +1

“Smooth motion rate” =/= refresh rate. It’s a 100Hz TV.

As for the lighting method. It’s definitely edge lit along the bottom regardless of what the spec sheet says. The TV is too thin at the top to be back lit.

Yes it does have local dimming. You have have a edge lit TV with local dimming. Local dimming does not automatically mean it’s back lit.

        • +1

It's back lit. Apart from OLED, all LED TVs are LCD panels with LED backlighting (with edge lit being the most common type of backlighting). I think you mean it's not direct lit/direct array/full array?

        • I got this for a friend. It's edge lit with local dimming sections. This means that if you have a white ball in the middle of the screen on a black background, the edge above and below the ball provide the light and the rest of the edge is off/down.

Only issue you get is the black area within the same vertical section as the ball is lit up more than the rest.

    I…MUST…RESIST…
5th time I am adding it to cart and not buying. My 48" $700 BigW Sanyo is still going great after 5 years. Keep telling
myself that I need to save money to buy it and not use a CC…

    • +34

If you don’t have the money and have a functioning TV, don’t do it, that’s how slaves are made these days

      • +4

Thanks for your comment. The reality check helps :)

    • +3

      Save your money.
There are always better deals coming through regularly.
I purchased this TV as a replacement to LG 42inch I had from 2007.

      • +1

I'm using a 42 LG from 2007 still lol. This is tempting but I'm moving house next year so I'd rather buy something when in the new place, save me carrying it between houses

        • +1

          Built tough. 👍
I really loved the Picture quality on the LG for Free to air channel

    • +1

I'm still running a 46" Samsung I bought in 2010 and I have the money to upgrade, but priorities and all that. I probably won't replace it until it dies and its still going strong (touch wood).

  • cheers op, nearly bought it the other day but pulled the trigger now. i know absolutely nothing about wall mounts, can someone recommend something?

    • +1

There's not much to know. You can get them with no adjustment, with tilt, or full motion. You just need one that supports the weight of the TV and matches the VESA mount pattern of the TV.

      • -1

cheers - any reason this one is much cheaper than the other full motion brackets? just because it's white?

        • They're Racist!

    • +1

GO with one of these mate Wall Bracket

As long as you can get it into at least 1 stud, you can use wall mates on the other side.

    • Any good wall mounts that let you swivel upto 90 degrees for tv of this size?

  • +4

Waiting for the next 75" for ~$1500

    • Knowing this, I will wait too then… :)

    • You must have your TV in the backyard! You need a huge space for that size!

      • +1

        NOT really!
TV sizes are getting bigger and bigger as "standard".
Most brands do not even produce 50" anymore, seems to be from 55" these days.

    • Yep me too! Waiting for the 75" P7 at $1,500. Should come from JB in the EOFY sales.

      • One 75P7 available at videopro ebay for $1,590 (PCLICK). $145 postage is a killer but.

  • +2

$27.40 delivery. That's a pretty good price in itself.

  • Man, I just purchased the 55 incher for this one. Do I cancel and get this instead? Is it too late?

    • +1

Yes! The 10" extra are def worth it. Injust upgraded from 55 to 65 and viewing
      is much better IMO

      • +5

The 10" extra are def worth it.

        That's what she said.

  • I have enough jbhifi giftcards to buy this tv, didnt know ebay prices is so much cheaper. Does anyone know if jb hifi will match ebay price?

    • Nope they dont normally… maybe pre disc code

  • bought a 55 inch same series for nearly the same price last december. really happy with its performance.

  • +2
    • Same question

    • -6

      100% samsung

    • Was wondering the same thing

    • +4

From what I've come across most say the P7.

      • +1

        Yep: NU8000 > P7 > NU7100

    • Without doing any research, I would say they are pretty much equivalent. Personally I would only by the nu8000 or the 8 series Hisense for wcg and hdr.

  • +1

FYI: Videopro got 75p7 for $1590 pick up after the ebay discount. Pick up from Brisbane thou

    • Link? I dont see it.

      • Seems I got the last one.

Keep checking them though, the restock often.

        • One available at the moment

          • @GrantG: seems like the discount code PCLICK has expired so you wont be getting the lowest price at $1590.

I went and picked up the TV yesterday at the video pro warehouse, friendly staffs and pretty much got it loaded in my van within 10mins.

  • Trying to decide which one to get. Sony, Samsung u8000 or hisense p8 65".
Price wise they are all around 1.8k range.
Just wondering if I still should go with Sony because the native Android system or should I consider other options? How is the smart TV interface on Samsung and hisense p8 ? Anyone used them and can chip in some feedback?

    • At that price range I would say the Sammy U8000 seems to be the fave.

      • Even against Sony 9 series?

        • Can't go wrong with either of em really. Should be able to grab the 65" Sammy for a bit cheaper tho recall seeing a few deals here for around the $1.4k mark.

  • +1

Long time lurker, signed up just to share that I also gave in and ordered one of these today.

Fortunately for me, I was able to find a buyer for my previous Hisense 58 Inch TV that I had for just over 3 years to help subsidize this purchase.

Really looking forward to getting this, I just hope that it doesn't take too long to arrive as I'll be TV-less for a few days.

  • +1

Just wanted to say awesome doweyy!
I've got this TV and love it!

  • Any deals on 75"?
