    Is this anýgood compared to the pioneer/Yamaha ones?

      The 2.1 version of this series (BDS 280 received very good reviews for its quality, simplicity & ease of use).

      Also the AVR 171S has decent features & power output ratings, better than the Yamaha/Pioneer equivalent in price range (going off just specs).

      Yes they have been for awhile now. They also own anything below Harmon (JBL etc).
      This is how I suspect the new JBL 305P ended up with the shiny plastic added to the cosmetics (marketing / target audience changes).

      AVR 171S only. Check the bottom of the specs in description (video section).
      The 171S is the one to get for the features & power output (check the power rating measurements (@1khz THD 0.1% for ‘151S’ vs @20hz-20khz THD 0.07% for ‘171S’).

    No Atmos or DTS-X, no HDR-10 or Dolby Vision. Fine deal but I'll hang out for something like the Marantz NR1608 that was $595 a while back
