    Battery Type: 200mAh Li-ion

Yeesh, the Logitech x50 (a popular portable speaker) is 750mAh for comparison…

Best to have 2 separate products. Or just headphones into your phone and your favourite bottle

  • 2 x USB Ports(Total 2.1A)

These wall sockets are terrible and would not recommend them, I bought 4 of them ( not this brand but same Chinese copy )
The USB sockets have failed on 3 in less than 12 months. I pulled one of the failed ones apart and it looks like they just cook themselves and short circuit.
I would recommend hpm or Clipsal over these any day

    • thats good to know, have you tried the costco ones?

      • I haven’t seen the costco ones sorry

        • They look similar but are in a two pack for like $30-40

          • +1

@asa79: One of the best things about Costco is the return policy.

Buy them, try them if they are of poor quality and burn out, return them!

      These are absolutely garbage quality.

http://eapr.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/CertificateSearch.aspx, seems like its licence had expired earlier this year

I wouldn't hard-wire something like this into my house. The standards/capabilities could be obsolete within years, and this thing may draw power 24/7.

    • If it's total 2.1A as mentioned above some would say these are already obsolete?
      Surely these are 2.1A X 2 though?

    • -1

5 screws is all it takes to change them. You're not stuck with them, you could change them every week of you felt like it.

That said, I wouldn't buy them as they're massively inefficient and use power even when there's nothing plugged into them.

      • +6

I believe it requires 5 screws and an electrical licence to change them

        • Only in the nanny state know as Australia.

        • And how many people taking advantage of the few dollars saved here are going to use a licensed electrician? You'd have to be buying dozens of them to pay for the sparky's call out fee.

What the regs say and what actually happens in real life are frequently different.

    • Should have a cover that slides activating a micro switch, so won't use any power unless something is plugged in.

I note there's no mention of an Australian electrical approval…
    sorry, it says: SAA Certified︱*Certified Number: NSW26984. Compliance Standards: AS/NZS 3112; AS/NZS 3100.

costco one has 2 ports. 1 port is one amp. the other is 2 amp. i installed 6 of them.

    • How did you find them

  • Power Points are made from 100% virgin polycarbonate

I bet I find ivory version at the next unsustainability festival.

  • OK,given the relevant comments above how are these allowed to be sold in Australia?

    • -1

      Amazonia liberals

    • Selling via Amazon the same as the ones on ebay
