Pretty good price for low latency (CL9) DDR3L RAM. It's good for upgrading compatible notebook computer or NAS, e.g. DS918+.

15gb of ram is the new black.

    • Fixed, thanks!

  • Probably spent as much if not more for 8gb for my 918+ though tbh I really don't need even that… or the 2 EVO Cache drives…..

  • Some of the reviews are a bit concerning, but are they just because they didn't know how to install?

My past experience with Patriot products is mixed (so my opinion can be biased). I have yet to have a Patriot memory product that lasts more than 1 year - but I did buy the dirt cheap ones.

I am going to be cynical and feel the way Patriot (or whoever selling these) quoting the specs is shrewd.
9-9-9-24 - that's in DDR3-1333 mode. At DDR3-1600 mode, it would be 11-11-11-28. So one bullet point saying PC3-12800 (1600MHz) and another point saying 9-9-9-24 - it is easy to trick people into thinking it supports DDR3-1600 in CL9 mode.

If you must get DDR3 SODIMM now, I guess the price is tempting. Do bear in mind that when I got my Crucial DDR3L-1600/PC3-12800 2x8 kit from Amazon back in 2016, I paid less than this (e.g. this OZB deal). Also, run a full memory check on these as soon as you receive the modules (the full test - the one that runs for hours) as people have reported receiving modules failing memory tests.

      • Thanks for your input. I might give this one a miss and wait for the next deal. Really all I'm needing is one 8GB ram stick.

I'm not sure I'll trust this brand..

  • A rookie question: Will they be compatible with Mac Mini mid-2011 2.3 GHz Intel "Core i5" with currently 2 x 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3.

I've checked with Crucial memory checker, from the specs, this should works.

      • Awesome! ta :)

  • Just great!! I bought 2x 8GB Kingston ram for about $150 2 weeks ago.. bugger!! Great price for branded RAM!

Head up guys: Patriot RAM is known to get faulty easily, same goes with GeiL and some low end models of Team, ADATA. But Patriot and GeiL are particularly bad.

  • There are plenty of better options on Newegg at a much better price. Newegg also offer free shipping to Australia on some products (including memory).
