Here in Canberra from the 1st July 2019, any drone weight over 250gram will need to be registered estimate of $20/yr. In comparisons DJI Spark is 300gram.

    https://mobile.abc.net.au/news/2019-03-27/drone-licences-to-…

"Prospective flyers of drones weighing more than 250 grams will need to pass an online education course and register their drone, according to policy documents prepared by CASA.

It estimated it would cost $20 annually per person for recreational drones and for some model aircraft operators."

Flying drone is going to cost lots of money these days. Unless you are a professional drone operator or have $$$$, it feels less tempting. Glad I dodged my temptation last year to impulsively buy one.

        $20 made you dodged this hobby?? All men's hobbies cost $$ Women/ Wine/ Games/ ANC headphones…

        • And you are forgetting the cost of the online course.

  • 20 bucks per person, so my family of 5 will be up for 100$$ per year..

Going to sit on the fence to see how this pans out..
