  Stix, I tried to pricematch that same TV you did at JB, they said the price at cheapbargains was $40 below their cost.

    Lol…that's rubbish, I reckon they lied. With their 10% off sale, the price came down to $520 and their cost was $510? $10 profit?! Hmm, I think not.

      Probably. The guy was a bit of a prick. Although, the TV was listed at $588 at JB so matching cheap bargains' price of $470 is $118 difference which in a lot of cases would be more than the profit they are making. Hard to know though.

        They probably wouldn't price match because they can get more out of another sale of that product to someone else.

        He's not desperate to meet his quota.. YET ;)

        Salespeople at JB are shocking. Walk in, act dumb and ask questions. See how little info they give you to help you with choosing the right product. They try to push whatever they've been asked to clear, and try to give you bull. When you reveal details that counter their claims, their faces change, and suddenly they are not as happy and cocky as before.

      I bought a Samsung UA40D5000 from JB for $1020 when asking for their best deal which I thought was alright as Good Guys would only match the orgional JB sale price of $1098. I was orgionally going to extend the warranty with JB which is why he dropped the price but I remembered using my credit card to pay automatically extends the manufactures warranty by a year.

      The JB guy told me that that was their cost price, no doubt they are still makeing a profit on that but probably only modest.

      Either way this deal is a bargain as they have the same TV for $916+$50(to Perth)!

  I'm looking at the PS59D550 PLasma for $1833+$50 del from these guys . Cheapest price in Perth especially as it's huge and I'll have to have it delivered anyway . Going around to a friends place to check it out before I bite . I gave them a portable HD with a pile of 1080P MKV's that played straight off the usb port of the TV .

  $3,054.00 is not a bad price - i believe some sort of Samsung promo (free blu ray or small TV or something like that) will launch in June or July so I will wait for that.

  From memory don't JB and Harvey Norman and most other store tv salesmen work on a monthly quota or something?

  I've often found they are prepared to deal on the last couple of days of the month because they want to get their bonus or whatever by meeting a sales target.

  I got Bing Lee in Bowral to reduce the price of their Samsung UA40D5000 - 40" Full HD LED TV to $939 (Cheaper than having it posted to me). I was quite happy with that as just yesterday I could only get there best offer to $1050!
