It probably hasn't escaped your attention, but due to the proximity of Easter and Anzac day this year, Australians can take three days off work and end up with an uninterrupted 10-day break.
Unfortunately for those looking to take advantage, everyone else has had the same idea by now, meaning holiday costs are up across the board. Flights, accomodation and other travel expenses are through the roof, so if you've left it this late, you're going to struggle to find a good deal anywhere.
But there's one place where you'll not only get a decent price, you'll actually be saving money compared to the rest of the year. It may sound too good to be true, but if you're still looking to get away this Easter break, we've got the deal for you.
The hack
Australian car sharing company GoGet has a network of cars that are leased to businesses and workers during the year. However, during holiday periods, such as the upcoming Easter break, those renting the vehicles for business purposes return the cars, meaning there's a sudden surplus in the number of cars available to rent.
As a result, GoGet actually reduces the rental costs on those vehicles by as much as 50%, to encourage customers to hire them out. If you're planning a last-minute Easter getaway and need access to a car, hiring one through GoGet may be the most cost-effective option, and you stand to actually save money compared to renting out the same vehicle at any other time of the year.
