      • So on both Mi Box and Android TV we can just install Netflix from Play Store and it will run without any issues?

I am wondering how do we search on YouTube with only remote?

        Thanks for your response @kirt.

          Yep.

          On-screen keyboard or voice search.

    • If the Shield is within your budget, it's easily the best device. Otherwise, the MiBox S is very, very good for the money. If you use Foxtel Now then these cheap Foxtel boxes are fantastic. I have three of them at home and a Shield in the lounge room and it's a decent network.

      • Hi @cunningdrew at the moment my choice is Vodafone TV Box. What makes you recommend Mi Box over Vodafone TV Box? I heard that Mi Box firmware is buggy which is unusual coming from Xiaomi and I am a long time Mi phone user.

  • Bought one. Thanks

  • I know this has Kayo but does it have hayu on there like the TTV?

Bought one. Received it Friday. Was almost immediately feeling buyers remorse after reading some comments on here after ordering.

But this is a great device for the price. Kayo works perfectly on it… which was my main interest given none of my devices have an app except my main TV.

Sideloading Netflix was easy. Kodi can be installed easily enough also. Installed VLC media player to test some 4K MKV files over the network and they played flawlessly too.

I don't doubt that there are better vboxes available. But for less than $50 this thing is pretty good. Without putting much effort into seeing l what workarounds there are to get more out of it.

Yep spot on, agree 100%. For under 50 bucks you would be hard pressed finding a better box. It does have the TV provider Android TV version, but if you can deal with that then there's good value to be had. And you don't need to bugger around Chromecasting with your phone.
