[Hack] Free Hamburger or Frozen Coke + 10 Hamburgers w/o Beef Patty @ McDonald's

6934

Food hack found on Reddit. Similar to this deal, when you remove a beef patty from a Hamburger, it deducts $1.10 from the order, netting -$0.10. Can apply the hack on any other menu items by varying the quantity of meatless Hamburgers if the system allows (not sure of limit).

  1. Add 10 x $1 Hamburger.
  2. Customise the burger by removing the Beef Patty (and/or everything else if you don't want meatless Hamburgers).
  3. Add 1 x $1 Hamburger (or $1 Frozen Coke if you prefer a drink).
  • Freeze the burgers and you have the next few days sorted.
  • If you don't plan on eating the meatless burgers, remove all other ingredients so that the burgers don't get made. Food wastage is bad.

this is low act, should not allowed on forum like this to encourage others to ruin businesses

    • I can see headlines: "McDonalds Co bankrupt because of Ozbargain post"

      • Mega-Broden!

  • +2

Saw this today and was considering posting it, but then thought people get easily triggered by this sort of thing and Maccas will patch it soon.

    • +3

Some people judge quickly and cut up nasty. I'm guessing maybe a couple of people will try this for the novelty. Just a bit of fun. Lighten up everyone.

  • I look forward to seeing all the buns stapled to trees.

  • +2

Come on mate. This is not a deal, just excessive waste.

    • Dont chuck them in the waste then. problem solved.

  • +5

    This is a new low.

Contributing to the problem of food wastage is not a deal.
Sure, there'll be some people that'll eat all of it but for the most part people won't.

    • How is this contributing to the problem of food wastage?

      • +1

        Read what I said:

there'll be some people that'll eat all of it but for the most part people won't.

Unless you can guarantee you'll be monitoring every Macca's making sure people don't waste anything.

Kids just wanting a frozen coke won't give two shits about wasting and that's a problem.

You'd be better just asking for the buns. Pickles are always free anyway. Tomato sauce won't go well on a bun you are saving for later.

        • +2

You ninja edited your comment to add that.

Why do I have to guarantee anything? If someone chooses to waste food, then they are the ones who are contributing to food wastage, not the deal.

          • -2

@ronnknee: Without this deal, people wouldn't have known.
Therefore, the deal is promoting awareness.
People seeing this deal will do this.
The deal is indirectly to blame.

            • @pennypincher98: yeah just like ABC reporting on ISIS is increasing awareness of ISIS and is indirectly to blame for their atrocities. fwark perfect logic brah you too good man you too good.

              • +2

@waterbottled: What's with your illogical examples?

ISIS does get more publicity than it needs but people deserve to know if their loved ones have been terrorised or not.

People deserve to exploit Macca's why?

                • +1

@pennypincher98: same reason people exploit Spotify's differential regional pricing.

                  • +3

                    @waterbottled: Again that is different.

Getting a digital service cheaper is not on the same level as getting 10 meatless burgers to get a frozen coke.

In fact, I'd prefer people to have access to cheap Spotify because otherwise they'd just pirate everything.

With Spotify, there is no chance of wastage. Spotify is still getting money.

Most people are not going to bother about taking 10 buns with sauce home with them. I would because I hate waste, but there's a line.

Arguably this deal is just Devil's Advocate but for every burger that gets thrown away thanks to this post.. it's the post to blame.

                    • @pennypincher98: But with spotify there is equal chance of corporation not getting what they should be getting for the goods and services they provide. They all got workers to pay. Either way whoever exploits these hacks are unethical POS who don't care. huh?

            • +1

@pennypincher98: Blame the catalyst, not the cause. Gotcha.

        • Yeah sure, shoot the messenger rather than the the actual food wasters.

    • -1

it's not a waste because you can still eat those buns you know.

      • I know I can still eat all the buns and I would.

I'm only one person at Macca's though. I can't stop everyone else from chucking it out.

        • +2

yeah i can't stop barnaby from (profanity) his secretary, doesn't mean i dont partake in elections. It's the food wasters that are the problem, not this deal/exploit/hack.

          • +1

            @waterbottled: That's a very poor example.
Yeah it is exploiting Macca's actually.

            See my comment above.
(Btw why are you just echoing the OP? Add something to the argument, not just restate it).

  • +3

It’s not a waste if you it all

  • +1

This is just wasteful and honestly pretty disrespectful to the staff. I'm getting pretty annoyed that OzBargain keeps allowing these kinds of posts.

    • how's it wasteful? explain it.

      • do you honestly think everyone is going to eat those 10 pattyless buns? theyre just going to consume the one hamburger

        • +1

cool story bro, doesn't mean the deal itself is bad. It's the people who chuck the buns out that are wasteful, not this deal. People on ozbargain do all kinds of disrespectful things in the name of deals (i.e. disrespecting terms and conditions by exploiting spotify's differential regional pricing).

  • +1

probably best to just get the buns only and use them later

  • Stupid "deal". And a dupe to my way of thinking. Sorry, neg from me.

Hi all. I'm looking for the thread to waste my negs. Is this it?

        So far:
Illegal / Inappropriate (1) (for food waste?)
        Spam (2) (that's imaginative!)

        Plenty more categories to nominate🏆

        • Insufficient Quantity / Sold Out (for when Macca's runs out of buns lol).

          • @pennypincher98: Was Just posting that😢
Insufficient Quantity (if every Ozbargainer ordered at once)

            • +1

@INFIDEL: If everyone actually used all that they had received, that would be an awesome prank to pull.

Today 3pm we just hit every Macca's in Australia all at once. They'll have no idea what's happening.

    • join in good stuff to be had.

  • +1

Even though they are a multinational company, this is just poor form. Completely wasteful in any aspect.

  • +4

I do not encourage the deal.

BUT if anyone is seriously going to keep the bread then please ask for no sauce so that you can actually use them. Can't believe people do this.

This isn't about saving money. This is about being next level cheapskate

  • +3

This "hack" is an absolute embarrassment to OzBargain!

I can't stand cynical people, pointing out at simple, literally nobody individuals on this planet, what they're doing, how that is impacting one country, continent, planet etc. Please, just, shut up, you'll at least appear smart if you're not smart. Every single night (this is just one corporate brand, that i know of, maybe all of this type do it, im just mentioning them as i know 100% for them that they do it) around midnight all 7 Eleven stores put in a box all pastry, Krispy Kreme doughnuts etc. That hasn't been sold for that day, place it in the box and THROW it at the back bin, yes, throw it, throw perfectly fine, eatable food, not give it away to some homeless place that could serve it to someone, they throw it. So, now you all "angels" on here who are so certain about all your everyday lifes doings and your innocence go and do something about this, protest at your local 7 Eleven stores, write a blog, share on social media. Don't just be a useless sack of dead weight walk in 7 Eleven, have a mega slurpee and pretend like you don't know now nothing about anything 👍

    Stupidest thing i've ever heard.

This is just wasteful and honestly pretty disrespectful to the staff. I'm getting pretty annoyed that OzBargain keeps allowing these kinds of posts.

You clicked the tittle , it delivers and now someone worried about not just food waste but Macca's staff preparing it . # in a cotton ball world for some .

BTW Macca's staff are on same hr rate preparing this or not .

This is not a bargain. This is exploiting a loophole.

      So is the itunes geohack

      • Yes, and itunes is a product that is already built. There is minimal extra operational cost to add a new subscriber.

This is people working and get paid wages, giving you patty that costs money.

Intune geohack is about removing the price discrimination that apple put in, this is not.

        • What if it's an elaborate loss leader? Maccas has been working hard to regain market share

        • Intune geohack is about removing the price discrimination that apple put in, this is not.

2 wrongs make a right. Gotcha.

  • +4

You should see the food wasted that's left over from their meals
on a daily basis by full cost paying customers.

    • +3

Yea the full paying customers totally leave 10 buns sitting there

      • Go spend 5 hours a night at maccas like I do for work and see the waste for your self. Also to mention the waste from the kitchen…

        • I’m not denying waste exists it’s just this empty burger situation exaggerates it massively

  • +3

People are stupid you can order the burgers with everything taken off of it apart from say salt and pepper. You still get the free buger but no waste. I just tried it with everything taken off and it still works.

    • You should post this as a deal. Technically it is different.

  • 8 Days late for April Fools

    • Better late than never. Welcome to the party!

  • Surprised chinezejew didn't post this

  • +4

Can we please give these to homeless at least?

    • +9

Just tell them about the deal. It doesn't cost them. It will also create conversation with them. I can guarantee that conversation alone will make their day.

Me: hi, can I tell you about something I saw on ozbargain?

Homeless person: what is this ozbargain thing you speak of?

Me: it's Australia's foremost bargain spotting website but that's not important right now…

      • Homeless people I see on my commute all play around with their iPhone X's and likely already know about OzBargain.

  • I tested it in the app because I thought it was pretty funny but it doesn't take anything off the total when you remove parts of the burger. Have they fixed it or is it in store only?

    • Store kiosk only

  • +1

Order the free honey sachets. Then it'll be a honey burger!

  • +3

Seriously if a deal was posted by someone for 10 free hamburger buns at supermarket X and then another for a free hamburger at mcdonalds, both these deals would receive hundreds of upvotes. That is what you getting here except all at maccas. Poeple like to talk about food wastage (when it isn't relevant to this deal) and pretend they are high and mighty and then turn around and take advantage of this deal anyway.

    • +1

There'd probably be a lot of wastage in your example too because when it comes to free food, a lot of people don't actually think about what they need, just what they can take.

  • I hope everyone who uses this 'deal' eats their 10 patty-less buns.

    • Oh I'm just going to order 1 with honey thank you very much!

      • +1

Sounds delicious. I'm pretty sure you could get a free glass of water to dunk it in as well!

        • +2

          Honey water thanks.

  • Not a "deal". Surely this type of thing is against OzBargain values.

  • -2

I don't know why people are getting apoplectic over this. Maybe they should be directing their fury at the people who coded this into the computer system enabling this and the people who tested the changes.

  • +2

    massive food waste

    • -1

Remove the rest of the ingredients during customisation so that the meatless burgers don't get made. No food wastage.

  • +1

Why not just remove the buns as well in the order? Voila no food wastage! Edit: just read the last line of the OP which essentially is saying the same thing.

  • You can get kids to get you the free fruit at Woolies ….cheaper and healthier ….

  • +1

Didn’t work for me anyway when I tried it. The store refused to honour it

  • $1 hamburger purchase does not reduce -$1.10 remove beef patty. so how you manage get cerdit im curious

  • +1

Does no one on this site not buy food for their household or is it just me?

This sounds like a nice cheap snack for a large family.

I guess you all must live single isolated lonely lives.

    Feels sad man.

If I was near a maccas this would be a bonus on reducing the grocery bills.

Food sorted for few days I must be in richville give me some of your $30 steaks.

    • $30 steak ….aldi eye fillet $25 kg …

      • Add the stuff that goes into making that steak.

        $30 easily if not more.

    • +1

This sounds like a nice cheap snack for a large family.
I guess you all must live single isolated lonely lives.
      Feels sad man.

Patty-less bun… While I like saving money, I wouldn't torture my family or myself like this. I'm sure even prison food is better.

      • Your choice.. food or no food to each their own.

Prison food is better and there are lots of people out there living on less than that every day every night.

People should just be thankful that this opportunity is now available to them.

Just hope no one here has had the unfortunate misfortune to have to think about how they are going to get their next meal.

        • +1

Your choice.. food or no food to each their own.

So your point is either this or nothing? It's a different story if one was on poverty, but Your second comment is not related, nor does it support your first comment.

Not seeing the overall benefit or worth of the deal does not mean one "live single isolated lonely lives". One could say our lives are so busy with more important things like family, than to waste time on invaluable things.

          • @Ughhh: No my point was if you can afford better than this then why are you even commenting on this post?

For some people this might make their day and whomever is around them.

For you it might be a waste of time for some others it might be all of theirs.

I don't get why you are arguing about cheap food.. just be happy that is even there.

Bashing those who want cheap food seems really backwards to me.

Yes this might be worse than prison food but it is still something.

I try to always assume your fellow man/woman is in poverty (unless I can assume otherwise) because making that mistake for me can be a big one.

Anyways this conversation is going literally no where.

I am not wasting time arguing why somebody might find value in this because if you can't see that I am sorry it is wasted energy and time at this point and I don't wanna waste anymore life on this plus your argument seems really dumb.

If you have something more important to waste your time on then I advise you to do so then bash this post for silly reasons.

            That's all I gotta say.

            • +1

              @AlienC:

No my point was if you can afford better than this then why are you even commenting on this post?

Your initial comment does not reflect this ie. did not make this point. My comment was in response to your quote, which I quoted/highlighted.

As for the rest of your gibberish, maybe work on your comprehension first?

      • +1

prison food, detention centre food is better then this meatless burger deal.

    • no shame being single.

less hassle and drama than being part of a "large family"

      • definitely no shame.. i am gonna be single for life.. (profanity) large families never going back to that shit
