Isn't nu8000 a better TV, available for similar price with this code?

  • Same price in BingLee eBay store for C&C and $15 cheaper if delivered

  • If I hadn't got the OLED the other day I may have gone for this.

    • +1

Nope. Go for the OLED. Good choice! :P

I didn't buy X75 last time on Bing Lee 20% off EBay with a hope that X85 will come down and closing the price gap between the two and here it is.

    • Well played!

Be wary of TGG ebay store. They are notorious for selling Items that are not in stock. You could be on back order for months. I would confirm stock is available with an actual store first to avoid the worst customer service experience of your life if it isnt.

      Ok Gerry

Yep my mate ordered a Hisense TV earl/mid March through TGG ebay store and is still waiting to get it.

    • +1

Sadly true in my experience. No Click&Collect stock at my local, so forced to buy online with delivery. Order transfered to said local store without stock. Waited close to 2 months for delivery. Different story if they have local stock.

      • Have you tried Bing Lee Ebay? Same price.

If the Rtings review of the 850F is anything to go by, just be aware that this is an IPS panel, which according to Rtings doesn’t have local dimming, and exhibits fairly washed out black levels. On the plus side of things, it’s got good motion handling, wide viewing angles, and decent motion response. VA vs IPS can always be a bit of a toss up, so just bare that in mind if you’re looking at any TV.

TV’s just seem to be getting cheaper and cheaper. Bring on sub $1K OLED’s!

The VA vs IPS thing only applies to LCD TV’s BTW.

    • +3

I'll take IPS every time. And I don't need the hassle of burnin with OLED. Worrying about the electricity when the family leaves the TV on for no good reason is enough.

the NU8000 Samsung is growing on me….

      • Motion handling on the q7 has been as issue for me and I don't imagine it will be better on the nu8000. I'd say the Sony for 24fps to 60hz content like tv and movies, Samsung for gaming.

I have both this and the X90F. The 90 is in a league of it's own, and I find that the 90 has much deeper blacks, crisp detail, especially in the winter scenes in GOT XD
    Worth the extra penny!!!

    • Worth the extra penny!!!

Casually implying paying $700 more is an 'extra penny'.

      • +1

Knowing how to run the numbers, you could pick up the 90F for around $1450. Lowest has been $1344 on Bing Lee eBay 20% off.

Is the 65 or 75 on special anywhere?

  • Great TV I have this one. Everyone who sees it comments on how clear the picture is.

I thought I got a bargain for just under $1200 when they were selling $1500 everywhere.

I am getting "This code can't be applied to your order." when trying to apply the 'PLOT10' code. Not sure what I am missing

    • Ditto that. Keep having that issue recently.

I have had this TV for about a year. The Android OS is painfully slow. Anyone else experience this? By contrast, the WebOS on my LG is a dream to use.
P.s remote response is also rather laggy

Try going into the setup, enable developer options, and reduce the allowed number of background tasks; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3ZnPq06jjA

I bought a x90f in the last month, but I’m sure quite similar.
I found a huge difference the stock remote and a universal remote.

I’m using a One For All 7980 and it feels twice as quick.
The default buttons seem quite stiff and need a decent application of pressure.
Since using the 7980, I’ve been really happy. I previously used the fast and responsive Apple TV 4 box.

  • Great TV. Got this from JB over Christmas for $945. I was initially confused between HiSense and this one and finally happy that I pulled the trigger on this one.

  • any 65's?

  • Good deal, I bought the KD60X6700E at $945 last year.
