Not worth buying 1.4 cables anymore. You'll only have to buy a 2.0 in the near future

    • Not really. TV broadcasts won't support 4K for a long time and it'll be even longer after that until they support 60FPS. Blurays still only come out at 24FPS and not that many people even own a player.

Most cables labeled HDMI-2.0 are no different than cables marked HDMI-1.4, unless it is certified as "Premium high speed HDMI" it will be a "High speed HDMI" cable which can support 4k.

HDMI cables should not use HDMI revision numbers as they can be misleading as you don't need new cables for each HDMI revision.

MSY also have cheap high quality cables especially their braided range.

That said I usually buy the cheaper cheapest cable I can find on eBay/Amazon and have had zero issues so far. The only (non-issue) issue I noticed was if a cable is not fully plugged in then there there is green static on the screen.

    • +1 for the Keji.

    • so this cable will transmit 4k? I'm needing to replace some cause I have noticed now that the kids have xboxs', some of my cables won't do 4k

      • Yep it is doing 4k 60hz for me on my pc monitor and should do it for your tv or whatever 4k device you are playing on.

There is no such thing as a HDMI cable version, current one is "High Speed", only TV's and devices have HDMI versions.
