"Generous battery life" - haven't been able to find an SSD with good battery life until now

Click Here to learn about it. "However, the storage drive also uses a lot of power and having the right one can make a noticeable difference in your laptop's endurance."

OZA while this is true (and is a class effect of all SSDs) i think grumpybum is pointing out it's not a property of any individual SSD (as the SSD itself does not have a battery) and thus is a poorly worded statement on the Amazon product page.

Also, Cashrewards have 10% running for Amazon at the moment.

    • +4

      That's expired already

      • You mean, that has now expired. It was still on the Cashrewards site before I posted. I guess it was a midnight end as per normal.

    ? shows $119.90 to me

    • Me too

    • It hasn't expired, price is still $78.81, I just checked it. Probably you are selecting "AZ eshop" as the vendor.

    Don't forget Shopback's normal 6%.

  • will this work on a PS3 Super Slim?

    • If it uses SATA, yes.

    • I'd check if this is worthwhile. I remember looking into it for my regular PS3 a long time ago and the was very little benefit to using an SSD over a regular HDD, particularly when you compare the extra storage space you can get for the same price.

  • Generous battery life

    What does that mean?

    • You get slightly more time (i.e. 30 minutes) on your laptop by switching from traditional laptop HDD to an SSD.

    its not a good drive

    • Great post, very informative.

nearly 10% 1 stars on amazon is not a good look for a ssd - if you could be bothered looking…

        • And 77% of people gave it 5 stars. I prefer to get reviews from actual tech websites and not the yokels on Amazon anyway.

          • @Merlict: 10% fail rate for an ssd is pretty shocking, and the tech journals refer to these drives as varying because of the ever changing internals but since you are recommending em to everyone clearly you are well aware of what's inside of them

            • @petry: 10% of 1 star does not mean 10% fail rate

@Ozvalue: yep - reality may be a lot higher

  • Don't they have free delivery with things over 50? Already used up my trial dangit.

    • +1

That's only for "eligible" items i.e those marked "FREE Delivery".

  • +1

Showing up as $94.03 for me.
