      That’s what I exactly did. Make sure the service from the donor sim is fully active (mine was Telstra) before hopping on live chat with Amaysim.

        You can use retail-bought SIM cards in place of the one coming in the mail. The extra step required is to ask them via live chat to activate the $7 plan on the $2 sim instead of the aforementioned.

        I did it earlier this week and it works fine.

      I did that too. Just contact online to get the SIM card activated and you can use their service within 4 hours after they activate.

      Dual sim phones are great. I've been sim hopping for cheap or free data without the hassle of port my number.
      Make sure your dual SIM phones isn't 2g for one of the sims.

      Yes you can, but it may take a couple of days to port vs a couple of hours when porting from Telsta or Vodafone.

          Careful because I think you need to add credit onto the Telstra sim before you can activate it.

            @billy_bob: For Telstra sims, there’s no need thankfully. Some others, like Kogan or Belobg, require a recharge.

    It is very cheap but how I am going to use it? Nearly every plan offers unlimited calls and text, and only 1G data is too small to be much use. I just wonder why people buy it

      1GB of data is plenty, for checking E-mails & for using messaging services.

      Many people don't use Youtube, Instagram, which are data-hungry.

      Also, if you run offline maps, then you'll be fine.

    If I bought the voucher, went on Amaysim and registered there (ordering a SIM in the process) does that mean I can now wait until the 24th to activate the SIM?

    My current plan expires on April 27th so waiting until the 24th would be handy.

      You cannot recharge your plan early for a fresh 28-day period.
