My daughter has been asking about online guitar lessons but I don't know the best site / instructor to use. Want to start off free to begin with to asses her level of genuine interest. Can't really afford a tutor and live rural anyway. If she pursues online lessons and doesn't lose interest I will make a way to get her proper lessons for sure, be it through a paid online courses or tutor :)

Best Free Online Guitar Lessons for 10yo?
hahahahaha, free you say…… Ok
Yea like the millions of free resources for learning anything these days.
I was going to suggest this. Justin is great.
Same
I would contact this person:
https://www.musicteacher.com.au/directory/gympie-qld/lessons…They may offer a free assessment / introductory lesson, but you won't know unless you ask.
From my experience, your daughter needs to have / make a connection to the music, instrument and the method of teaching / tutor.
Rocksmith is a video game available on pc and console that teaches guitar
Not really free - needs the game and plug but its really good
Not sponsored or sockpuppetting in any way but user davetran01 on here has an absolute killer Youtube channel for guitar tutorials!
Just start with youtube to be honest. No recommendations. But you can learn to do almost anything on youtube.
Not sure what state you are in, but in QLD, the state schools have an excellent music program. Violin (and other stringed instruments) starts in year 3 and band instruments in year 5. So kids learn to read music very young. One of my kids (already playing voilin, piano and saxphone) just taught herself guitar quite easily as she was so used to other intruments.
Maybe see what the school has to offer too.
