Just saw that JB are doing the GoPro Hero7 Black for $499 with the 3-way Grip.
This is a good price if you actually want the grip as it's valued at around $100… Not a great deal if you don't want the grip…

Just because somethings been cheaper doesn't mean stuff under RRP but above the lowest sale price isn't a deal.
It's just not AS GOOD.Cheapest it's ever been is $399 on eBay from the Good Guys, if you value the 3-Way Grip at around $80-$100, then it comes pretty close… As stated in the description, if you don't want the 3-Way grip, then it isn't that good a deal…

The silver is on sale for 299 as well, for a lot of people that's probably the better buy right now.
If you're new to gopro and on a budget, which of the older gopro models that can be had on gumtree is worth going for?
Really depends on budget.
The Hero5 black or silver are both solid, perfectly good action/secondary cameras. The silver can be hacked too.
The session is the most compact. Any of the Hero branded cameras are good for the person who has occasional need, but can't justify spending too much.
Something to be wary of with any gumtree gopro is battery life, particularly on any model that's a sealed battery. Once the battery goes it's basically a paperweight (my old Session is good for less than 30 seconds of video or 3 photos now), so keep that in mind.
If gopro still have the promotion you can order the 3 way grip for around $60 or get a knock off for less than $20.

@Caped Baldy: i mean the cheap copy three-way from ebay. It's shit. The tripod is disbalanced after using few times. And its wobbly
Not the best deal, but not a bad deal either. Worth an up vote.
Copped deal for $489 - as I used that $10 JB Hi-Fi voucher that was posted from another deal today.
They ran out of black GoPro 7 Blacks so they gave me the white which actually looks better in my opinion.
